Real time stratagy.


I posted this idea in GSW forums. but there is an other use for it here.


I have posted before about providing SL with troops. Now I have the idea that a master SL can contol a base and the troops with it.


A master SL would enter the base. then would in basic terms be the base. He would stand there but would change view to the building placment map. there he would hae new option where he would control solder from the base just like a RTS game.


to make this wrok one majer addition to bases would be needed and that would be a administartion list for mutlable users to have access to the base.


Depending on the type and sive of the base would permit a Master SL to control or pay for (using base resorces) diffrent types of forces.


The number of troops a base can call is already in the system.


this would in effect add a new level of play to the game. permitting unique battle fields. And permit players to control mobs in the battle field.


While the SL is in the base controling the troops. His character would be vanerable to attack. If his avatar is killed while in the base the troops revert to AI or pre set patrol patterns that the Master SL set.


This will add a large boost to not only the master SL but to bases as well. making them a vital part of the galactic civil war.


It is a idea. I think worth looking at. Fine tune it. See if it can work.

as interesting as the idea is i hope you see it is hugely robust to be implemented.


I see the perfect place for this in battlefields if they get revamped. If it is put in battlefield it should go to the SL, but maybe we would want it to be available to other in the event an SL wasnt there but the SL got a bonus somehow for it.

An interesting idea.. Would prolly take awhile to code the NPC control, the rest could be encoded like the turret controls for a base. Would be great if Battlefields still existed, unfortunatley i think you'll have to buy StarWars:BattleFields to see one again though.

Yeah, I am getting that game for sure.


the main idea behind this was I got a game called savage. It is a first person shooter with a RTS game working at the same time. One players controls the bases while the other player runs around in first person mode with his own character to shoot things. Was a interesting consept.


the other reason was a way to remove battlfields from the game. IMHO I feal there dumb. (all I can think of to call them right now lol) In a war battle fields are al over. not just one location. And with this system simular to a RTS game. you could create large epic battles to watch. be part of.


the engine there using for the game will work easly to do this. most of the building typs are present to use. everything from bases to camp sites.


I even thought that SL could be the proffesion to run such a operation. (Squade leaders)


At each level a SL would gain more building types to build and more troops and command options.


and we know the ground can be molded buy player actions. So having trenches or bunkers placed here and there is possible.


all we need is a mavric Developer on the team to take up the idea and make it happen.


but that means being read on the forums as a good idea.


So we will see.
