Hey everybody,
I have some questions about Squad leader.
Currently I'm weighing several options as to best use my recently freed up skill points from the BH SP Reduction.
I have a few ways I can go with my template. One variation includes picking up a little bit of Squad Leader.
1.) Novice SL
Is the broadcast message to group that useful? Seems like it could be.
*OR*
2.) SL 0-3-0-0
Is Volley Fire that good? Pros? Cons?
Thanks in advance.

I use /boostmorale a whole bunch. After a battle, you get your Teras Kasi people to start meditating their wounds away, then you /boostmorale to distribute the wounds. Eventually you'll all be patched up.
The /sys command is great. I made a bunch of macros and aliases so I don't have to keep trying the same commands over and over.
/rally has little use, and most people get upset when you use it. When rallied, your group can't loot or harvest or use specials.
Never used steadyaim or volleyfire...
Oh, and the Field Commander title kicks ass!

people love formup to get rid of states and retreat to give burst run. I dont know what that guy was saying about not using steady aim because i use it and it works. Just make sure you dont use rally and boost morale is good but i never find it necessary

Oh My... I can't believe I'm reading some of these stuff. Are you guys paying attention AT ALL??? SOme of oyu have your information backwards but 90% of SL are hologrinded anyway.
1) /rally is a GREAT skill. One of the best we have. YES - It prevents from Harvesting. YES - It prevents from Rezing. YES - it even prevents from Sitting down. YES - It fails 50% of the time even at Master. NO - It doesn't prevent you from using specials. YES - It gives an accurary Bonus to attack. YES - it give extra Defense to everyone. RANGE = 60m. DOWNTIME = 5sec DURATION =30 Sec and Stackable for Duration. (Thus a second /rally during a current one will add30 more seconds to the Rally.) and my favorite NO - It doesn't not Spam a /yell. Much safer in PvP.
If you're out on a hunt for harvesting htings... then no... don't use Rally. There is a time and place for all skills. Try /rally during a PvP raid. /rally during long battles such as Night Sisters or Dragons. If you understand what it does... you won't make people mad. I stop rallying when I see the big target is about to drop so that it wares off by the timeit's time to harvest. This is one of our best skills ... You will notice HAM bars drop less and you not see a -Miss- from your end.
2) /steadyaim ... It's quick... It works... without a range. As long as your partymember is on the planet... they receive this bonus.
3) /volleyfire ... have only used once that was useful... It really doesn't work as designed. THIS is the skill that doesn't allow specials. Just don't bother using it.
4) /formup ... BEST EVER... enough said.
5) /boostmorale ... Would be more useful is worked as discriped but I have still found it useful at times. On LONG hunts for sure. It evens out wounds among the party but ONLY PRIMARY wounds. Secondaries remain wounded. Sort of sucks for CMs mind heals. Great ot have the mind back but... without the Secondaries... the bigger mind still won't last long. Does work AWESOME in PvP. Most Combat Medics only throw Primary Stat Diseases. One person has blackmind but fresh secondaries... /boostmoral and he's back in the game.
6) /sys Helpful ... was more so BEFORE the listing of loots and harvests. Needs to be a sound with it and different text.
7) /retreat ... LOVE this skill... even if does effect everyone EXCEPT the SL. It does havea HUGE mind/action cost. 50% Mind 75% action roughly. Relitive to your HAM bar. If you're Action and Mind are both 1000 and your secondarys are unbuffed Action will drop -750 and your mind will dorp -500. Buff ONLY your Actioin and mind. Make them both say 3000. Secondaries are still unbuffed. ACtion cost will be -2250 Mind will be - 1500. I think that's a little Jake. ACtion Buffed or not it still zaps 75% of Action and 50% of Mind bar away. SO... needless to say... Make sure oyu Quickness is buffed as well as your focus. BUT... this does work anywhere on planet. Any member of the group that is on planet regardles of range will receive the burstrun.
8) Mods... Group Terrain Negosh ... LOVE ... Ranged and Melee Defense ... LOVE.
YES squad leader needs it's revamp badly because these few of skills at their high costs are NOT worth the SKill points we put into the profession BUT... the skills ARE useful when use correctly.

yeah shadow but for rally you left a big no out of that list. It prevents medics and doctors from doing their job. They drag you off the battlefield to fix you up when you are incapped. Rally is a terrible skill that sucks as badly in pvp as it does in pve. Retreat does not work like that by the way. It works off you original values. When i am action buffed and mind buffed i do not drain that much. Unless one of us is bugged you are wrong.

can a non-factioned squad leader use their skills to help overts?

Don't know for sure, but think it will work out as a medic. So don't think the overt players will recieve the benefits of yours skills.
One tip: don't group with overts. I find it one of the flaws in the game that a covert can join with an overt. Eleminate this and group teffing is also solved
