Thread: Bug or Intended (DEVS PLS READ)
Not sure if this has been brought up already or not. I haven't seen anything on it.
I use Rally, and while that buff is on me and my group members nobody can sit, harvest, etc. The only thing you can do is fight! Is this a bug or intended? If it is intended, please explain to me why on earth you make itthat way. I see no purpose in not being able to sit while Rally is on or any other buff for that matter.
When I found out it was doing that it made me think, why even be a squad leader. Yeah, you get group buffs that up defense, to hit mods, etc. Stuff that can be very useful, but why should we have to wait till they are gone to sit or harvest?!?
Generally, when you take control awayfrom a group member without their consent, they tend to not like the command your using, regardless of it's effects. Thereby, making said command useless.

Here are my thoughts on this... I do nto think they are bugs. after all when you have people rally think about the definition of rally or its use in saying rally around the flag. you would not want people jsut sitting around not doing anything when yur rallying them for battle.
with this said in a way it would also mean you have to think when to use it and when to not. meaning skill and judgement in its use. seperating the novice SL from someone who knows when to use such abilities, A true tactian.
In war timeing is everything. If your doing it to just buff the group have them eat food or spice.
Is there a reason why rally couldnt be made to be able to be turned off..
I.e. it's in effect as it is, but when combat has ended and you want to sit, rally can be "cancelled" ??
If this is not a bug, then the command is totally useless. As you get more and more toons together to fight, people start to specialize in group roles. Healers heal, fighters fight, etc... If you use the /rally command and cause your healers, who are sitting to increase mind regen perhaps, to stand and fight, then the costs far outweigh any potential benefits. A good group is flexible, with everyone focused on and knowledgable aboutthe different roles they play.
Any group comands that cause group members to act in a particular way weakens a group. Volley Fireis the same deal. You focus everyone's aim atone target and the guys in charge of CrowdControl get their aim screwed up. Healers start to heal bad guys instead of the melee's who are getting pounded on. Thatcommand will cause more wipeouts then anything else I can think of.
The only good squad leader abilities are passive abilities.

I have never actually timed it (bad me!), but its like 60 to 90 seconds in duration.
Its reusable whenever, no constraints.
I still use it all the time, my group has learned to work around the no-harvest, no-sit stuff.
How much of a bonus and to what does /rally apply?
I.e. +10 general ranged aiming, +10 melee defense, +10 ranged defense?
Anyone know?
I can't say I have been the most attentive about this, but I have never seen anyone miss a shot while /rally was in affect.
Meleers in particular applaud the use of /rally since it drastically reduces how often they miss (ie, zero)
