Thread: So much experience...

I noticed that the entire first line of Squad Leader skills takes a whopping 125000 experience EACH. That's one ofthe most expensive basic skill sets in any of the elite professions, and they only increase from there. I'm not a SL yet but before I pick it up I'd like to know- is this going to take forever? How does experience work for this class? I have a feeling it's based off of group size, but there must be other factors.

What I'd mostly like to know is, how much experience would I get grouped with only a couple other people if we killed a low red mob? I would hope upwards of 1k or more.

This profession looks interesting, so please tell me what you know. Thanks!

well bud... i am a SL, been for about a week... and yea, exp for SL hurts.... group size and amount of damage you do in battle make the difference.... FINALLY got a 15 man group going.... and made as much in 1 day than i had in 7 with 2-6 man groups.... rough, rough , rough..... but i like SL, so .... hehe

The amount of experience the SL does effects his experience gain? Well, I could start going on about how some of the great tacticians in history rarely unsheathed a sword, but I won't subject everyone to such conjecture.

Heh, okay then, final question... have you gotten past novice in a week?

The XP system for the SL annoys me more than anything. As I have ranted about before, you are basically penalized for using your SL skills. You gain SL XP by doing damage. Meaning, if you waste time/HAM poolsusing your SL skills instead of using combat skills than you are getting less XP.

This obviously is very stupid. I mean seriously, name one other profession that doesnt get experience for using that profession's skills. SL go up by having very large groups and doing a lot of damage while in that large group. What is best for the SL advancement is ignoring supporting your team and trying to do as much damage as you can while you have as many people in your group as possible.

I still like the "idea" of the SL so I am sticking with it... but this XP system really does irritate me. I really hope this system gets changed.

I hunt with a few CH's all the time, with their pets (+ a few droids)my group is quite big most of the time. Getting about 1k till up to 7.5k exp. per kill (force sensitive npc's give nice exp).

Hey, you know of a steady source of force-sensitive opponents?

My NBS squad is always looking for more of them to beatdown...

Would be nice to see a change in the way exp works for us. You really are penalized for using your skills. So for now I try to keep rally up before the fight and not worry about the rest.

heh,

Whatever you do DON'T use /bolstermorale ever! I can't think of a use for this unless you are out in the field and have someone really wounded but no medics availible. This will wound others in the group even if they are over 1000m distant.

/boostmorale isTHE definitive PvP encounter changer... sprinkle in some area heal combat medics, and you have a PvP encounter winner.

Anyone know where a squad leader trainer is? Perhaps on Naboo or Corellia. I have been qualified for a while, just haven't found a trainer yet.

I just use the one near the Imp mission terms in Bestine, Tatooine. (My hometown even if it is crawling with Imperial Scum!)
