Thread: Patch Date/Fixes?
Anyone have an ETA on the patch that will fix our broken skills? (rally, etc.)
Being useless for too long makes me antsy, and a little annoyed.
One more thing, shouldnt volleyfire be so much cooler? For the one day i had it before our skills broke i was so dissapointed with it. I read everything on this board about how bad it was, but i really had to see it for myself, and boy was it bad.
Last point: I picked squad leader as the profession i wanted to be as soon as i got a look at the skill trees (after launch, not beta). Being more of an optimist i've held onto the hope that this class would one day be a really integral part of group style combat for a long time, much longer than most of the people on this board have. As the days since 'breakage'add up,and the silence from the developers on the issue of squad leaders being the suck grows deafening, I'm left wondering if i really screwed myself over picking this class. I dont favor solo hunting/pvp, being in a group/guild is way more enjoyable, so i dont mind us not being on par with the other classes in 1 on 1, that is a given. Historically the 'squad leaders' never engaged in direct combat anyway, but i would like to know that i add more to a group than just invites and steadyaim. I assume the devs havent addressed the squad leader problem do to the fact that there isnt exactly an abundance of squad leaders in this game, but honestly, the ratio is about right anyway, 6000 posts to 60,000 for the major combat classes, or 1 sl for every ten combantants seems right to me, so why arent we getting any fixes or updates or new skills? A capablesquadleader can add so much to a group if his skills were working and his abilities more tuned, making the game more enjoyable for him/herself and for the others he is running with. Fixes and extra abilities for this class shouldn't be any harder to fix/add than for any other class. Seriously, colored armor and droids is not more important than an entire class being utterly broken.
and where is our correspondant? look at the combat medic boards, their correspondant got stuff done.

we have a **edit** good correspondant so a little /respect the c-medic correspondant got **edit** done because people know how good combat medics can be they dont know how good SL can be.
Sorry, but I think our Correspondent is doing what he can. There are two devs working on our profession, give them time... a little bit more that is. I understand your frustration, I think we all sit in the same boat.
For the Squad Leaders!
Try being 1 bar from master and the experince is STUCK on 100k and won't move.
Not even CSR can help me.
while A lack of response from Devs is annoying, I do have to wonder if part of the problem with squad leader is because so many of the combat classes are bugged or out of balance.
If the purpose of a squad leader is to improve the capabilities of the combat classes, you first must have a clearly defined role, and strengths and weaknesses of the combat classes themselves.
The combat classes are not clearly defined in their roles, their abilities overlap in some places, tons of skills in the combat classes dont work or don't do what is advertised.
It is hard to define the functions and abilities of a squad leader when the classes they are supposed to be assisting are in such turmoil.
Riflemen are getting massive accuracy buffs in the coming patch, So are all the combat classes. These accuracy aditions are +50 points in some cases. This will have an immediate and direct impact on SL+ defense mods.
How can you fix defense mods if you dont yet know what accuracy mods are going to be used or not? It is a complicated and seemingly lengthy process.
I also think Squad leader is lacking a weapon speed mod. It is well known that a well drilled and well lead team fires faster and more accurately than one that is not well led and motivated. I do not see why squad leaders only get defense mods passivly and minor accuracy mods when used with volley fire. Rate of fire should also be affected somewhere along the line. Especially if they are going to put in caps on weapons.
Riflemen for instance if they get a 3 second cap will be eager to group with a squad leader if that cap can be removed or mitigated when led by a squad leader (just to use an example)
I believe because of the nature of squad leaders and their impact on the combat classes that it qould be difficult to make adjustments and fixes to squad leaders until you first hash out the combat classes.
That being said there is no reason not to remove the bugs and fixing those skills wich were working previously so I have no defense of that.
