"I'd also like to see a form of "Squad Leader Waypoint": when grouped with a Squad Leader, the entire group can see one (and only one) waypoint [of a certain color, let's say green] produced by the SL. This would help avoid downtimes produced by groupchatting coordinates and emailing waypoints."

That's a great idea! One thing to do is to check out Planetside's 7-day trial. Their leadership system is great there: starts off with being able to create waypoints fora group, then emerges into huge chat powers. Here's a list as I remember it:

Level 1: Ability to set a WP for your group.

Level 2: Planet-wide "command chat," accessible ONLYby SLs.

Level 3: Galaxy-wide "command chat," accessible ONLYby SLs.

We could implement that, but changeit to "Dungeon Command Chat" (Dungeon = Squill Cave on Tatooine)and what I think is a great idea (thought up by yours truly),the "Command Datapad."

Using the Command Datapad, SLs would be able to upload information to people in their group instead of doing it in group chat. For example, Sodanso the Squad Leader just got a newbie tag-along, Leeper. Leeper dosen't know much about SWG, so she needs detailed instructions on how to get to him. He uses his command datapad, which makes a window pop up in the middle of Leeper's screen, and feeds her instructions through here. However, he can't use it as a chat form (Leeper can't respond), so he sends one big message. Leeper is really new, so she needs clarification on how to get to him, or dosen't understand the game mechanics. Result? Leeper gets to Sodanso with no problems at all, and Sodanso is happy with his new tag-along. (note that this datapad is available to the whole group, to differentiate it from email)

Now, as I see it, we could put it into different levels.

Level 1: SL can put 50 characters into the datapad.

Level 2: SL can put 100 characters into the datapad

Level 3: SL can put 100 characters into the datapad and one waypoint.

Level 4: SL can put anything in the datapad.
