Thread: Ideas to save us...and our Squads

I have been a Master SL now since my last holo grind (about 2 months). I have kept it for only a couple of reasons. First the fact I actually am NEEDED in a base takedown, albeit only a novice not master.
The /form up command works wonders when fighting a Krayt or other dizzy attack opponents.
/Steady aim is ok, but it should last for more than one round.
The /retreat is seldom used.
The melee and ranged def bonuses are nice if they really even work.
So in my months of being a master SL, I have come up with these ideas. Making it so players actually want to head into battle with a SL for a big advantage.
1. Since we are Squad Leaders, why not actually let us call in an extra squad? It can be based on your rebel/imp rank. ie. captain can call in via a /reinforce command 10 extra NPC troops into the battle. Colonel could call in an airstrike etc. Once every hour.
2. Have a true melee/ranged defense bonus that shows. Since it is a fact that SL keep troops in better position, they should be less vuln to attacks.
3. I like the post about the target HAM idea. Or have it where the volley fire uses the last "special" by the effected player. If it was strafe 2 by the rifleman then you call /volly and the rifleman shoots strafe 2 again. This can be a bad thing if the squad isnt in agreement. So a /hitmytarget command may be better. Like the
/assist does now.
4. If fighting at factional bases the NPCs then fall under the command of the SL. If the NPCs rank is less than the rebel rank of the SL the fall in and attack the SL target.
5. /boostmorale is good
6. Have no ill effects on Jedi powers. When we PvP on Intrepid, I lose the ability to be a SL if there are Jedi grouping cause it effects some of their specials.
7. The idea of fortifing ranger camps is great. Maybe SLs can drop small dish turrets in High Tech Field Base kits to actually make them field bases.
8. SL should get factional discounts like smugglers. We are fighting for the cause as the only "player officer" in game. Why not?
I am not a programmer. I have no idea if these ideas are even feasable in the game. But with the combat rebalance looming in the future, they should take that opportunity to make the hybrid/elite proffessions more appealing.
It needs that all things equal in 2 squads, the one with the master SL should win hands down every time.
