Solo groups are a by-product of teh insane buffs/armor we currently have. If teh CB addresses those issues thensolo groups are gonna go bye bye.

Basically I see solo groups as a minor problem currently. If you need XP for SL just head to tusken, invite everyone you can to a group explaining the SL issue and you can just rake it in. Or conversely actually get a big group for the higher level things likeNS Elders. You need groups for those things most of the time.

Is there a particular type of loot that NS Elders drop that everyone wants? And how would the payoff for such loot compete with a 3 hour buff/grind that'll wring in at least a mil in credits?

Of course, I'm just thinking about it from the soloer's perspective

Another thing is the fact quite a few players want to have a character that they can solo with. It's their dream to have a toon that can take down a Krayt Dragon all by themselves without any other players stealing all the glory. The reason why could also be this: They've worked so hard to attain their level of strength that they need to be able to solo epic monsters in order to verify that their work has paid off. With that in mind, I doubt a weakening of buff packs and armor would settle well with these people.

On another note, it's true that a person could start a solo group and get sl exp on their own. However, it's the squad leader with a low level combat skill that's going to suffer the most. I don't believe that a squad leader should have to rely on the skills of another profession in order to progress normally (but I do believe that they should help with the progression).

One last thing, and it's a generalization. I think SWG has created a precedent with this whole solo grouping thing. Out of all the MMORPGs I've played (and believe me I've been in a LOT of them), I've never seen it at such a grand scale (if I had seen it at all!). The reason why I say this is because this is new problem for this genre in general, and if the devs can fix this problem well, we would reap the benefits of a completely new system . Something exciting to think about .

night sister elders drop premium crystals which are a must for jedi knights. And while it is possible to solo those with the right template, you can go through more in a shorter period of time increasing the loot you collectively gather.

Our guild tried it last friday and we took out about a dozen NS Elders (and god knows how many NS rangers) ina 2 hour session. It was alot of fun, and the guild enjoyed the SL bonuses.

Hi all ,

This is obviously not news to anyone who plays SWG, but it seems the most common form of "player interactivity" that can be seen in the game right now is a solo group. Defined as a group that people form in order to get harder missions, getting more creditpayoff, and then doing these missions on their own so they don't have the share thereward, solo grouping has essentially killed PvE grouping (ie, grouping together). This hurts us Squad Leaders pretty badly.

I'm having a hard time comming up with a solution for all of this. I know some of you have probably figured out something and posted before, but I haven't seen an actual thread for it.

So I started this one

This thread's all about Solo Grouping: How has it treated you? Any possible solutions to this problem? Tell us!

There are many factors that tie into this that I am unable to discuss.

The CB may not get rid of solo groups, but they will make active groups much more fun and usable.

But please discuss this... as any idea is a good Idea.

Im still working on a dynamic mission proposal that uses grouping as a factor, so anything I might glean from a topic such as this would be great.
