basically, the DE folks put together a nice detailed report on their class, much like we did, and TH's replies are frightening to me. Why? Because he is implying that the devs want US to figure out the particulars of changes made to the professions. This is both good AND *very* bad.

It's good because we get to have a say... it's bad because we are NOT the programmers of this game and will often have a narrow vision... it's THEIR job to design the game.

The DEs told them the "what" of what is wrong and asked for fixes/changes... TH replied by asking for "how". So it seems to me that TH is going to probably do the same with us... when we say "SL needs abilities that will make us valuable to a party" I bet he says "ok... how do we do that?"

This shouldn't be our job... but we need to be prepared for it when it comes. We've had some great ideas for skills and abilities... andwe're going to need to present them soon, so we need to start thinking again about our top suggestions so that when the time comes, we're ready.

Capn... thoughts on this?

TH posted on the Correspondent forums a "State of the Professions" thread, and asked us to do a writeup. I basically copy-and-pasted my report again, but this time adding the newer ideas and other little tidbits we had. TH and Sinostri (D.E. correspondent) have been involved in a tug-of-war all this week. TH asks for something, he gets it, then instantly says either "we can't do that" or "how do you want us to do that". It's, of course as I can understand, scary to see that ... but we are a completely different profession and TH has showed a very open mind towards me individually for future work. I know we are either next or next-to-next in the revamp professions, so stay tuned and watch how things go over in the D.E. forums carefully.
