Thread: Squad leader to become the faction pet CH
Dear all and especially dear correspondent,
Due to the new change in the CH rules, only one faction pet will be allowed for non-CH characters.
I would propose that the SL (I am not a SL but this profession will be great once debugged) will become the CH for faction pets.
It is not logical taht someone trained to handle maulers is also considered as the best person to handle a group of storm troopers.
Is this request already in the change/bug list ?
Actually, THs latest creature post says that eventually, the number of faction pets available will bebased on rank.

I think we have to request it officially trhough the profession correspondent.
SL need some skill unavailable anywhere else. It is logical and fair that they become the faction pet CH.
While I personally enjoy PvP and participate in the GCW, this isn't a viable alternative. It essentially makes the SL a faction Profession, and PvP isn't for everyone.
I'd love to see this implemented, because I love my ST Goon Squad ("There they are, Blast 'em!") but there's no truer phrase to apply than "It wouldn't be fair" from a mechanics standpoint.

I think rank still should but Squad Leaders should a + for amount out based on level

I am against this.
Squad Leaders are meant for groups of PLAYERS. The last thing I want is for Squad Leader to become a soloer class like CH is.
I am very against this,infact, due to the pet system, a Players have no worth, just what pets they can tank with... A player is defined to what he can hunt by his pets, not his skill...
Squad Leaders should work with PLAYERS skills, and have skills that boost PLAYERS Abilities, not control, not a Pet pusher... But a Leader! We don't HAVE Meatshields! We don't needem! We need abilities to make players not HAVE to have PETS!
I want someone to go out hunting and the first thing they say is, " Hey, we need an SL!" Not , " Hey, we Need a CH to tank for us..."
When Squad Leader is the most valuable asset to the group.... Then it will be right. But as is, making us Faction CHs is malarky! Plain and total BS. Sorry. It is.
I have to chime in and agree with the other posters. Pets have, quite simply, almost single-handed ruined the value of grouping in this game (the competitive nature of earning XP in combat, and the total lack of accountability with regards to looting - - no indication to the rest of the group who looted and what they looted -- are other contributing factors). I dropped creature handler because I was disgusted with how easy it made the game, the last thing I want is to have squad leader become the same thing with different graphics.
I want the ability to paint targets, to quickly and effectively direct group members (shared waypoints!), to organize formations and battle tactics that actually give my squad some kind of distinct advantage which is easily recognized by all.
I'm sick of getting to be group leader out of pity, I'm sick of people saying "Kinda, maybe, a little" when I ask if they're noticing my bonuses, and I'm sick of friggin' rancors all over the place.
