Thread: Squadleader Designer Response ?
oh by the way I used the search to find all posts by q3po and holocron with the word "squadleader" in the message body..
Well most SL didn't like the changes at all except the supposed "speed-song"..
Any updates I missed except the xp-nerf ?
Will Squadleaders get any new skills in the next month ?

Squad Leader abilities are slowly being spread out amongst the other professions.
The only changes we've ever gotten were major "unintended" nerfs and "fixes" for them.
Squad Leaders absolutely will not gain any new skills in the next month, nor in the month after. The devs in charge of this sort of thing are far too busy with what they deem is more important. I.E. mounts and player cities.
Felsspat, I have looked for it myself. It was never posted in the SL forum, but In SWG discussions I think.
I asked here once and got pretty much the same response. Its somewhere out there. But it will take a lot of digging.

but seriously the only DEV resonce we've gotten is about the XP nerf mistake that from what ive read so far seems to have been fixed. we have not recived any responces to any of our correspondent reports, our entire proffesion is broken and the DEVs are doing a thing about it.
or maybe they are? we dont know because they arent telling us squat
Only like I said nobody liked any of the proposed changes except one, and then I never heard anything more on the subject.
Fel... those proposed changes were posted once... not even on this board... and pretty much just blurted out with no real thought or planning(or so it seemed)
We of course had TONS of immediate reaction... which Capn organized into a great document which was sent to the devs... and summarily ignored.
As far as the dev chat -
here is the only mention of SL I saw in the dev chat:

When will smugglers and other neglected proffessions (SL, DE, Chef etc.) be able to hear specific answers to the issues and known bugs we have to deal with? Is there a program set up for regular reports from developers to correspondents?
(Thunderheart_) I am currently working on a program with the Player Correspondents. The Correspondents gave me their feedback on reporting and we will have something in place by the end of next week. Once we get the process in place I encourage you to work with the Player Correspondents to get all the issues to the forefront.
I have the same dream for swordsmen..
Well now I'm thinking about giving up SL and Swordsman and to become a Bountyhunter/TK like everybody else

The last time a developer mentioned the Squad Leader was when Q-3PO suggested that Squad Leaders might be the ones to heal mind. Other than that we had one vauge post by Thunderhead saying he would try to get to use eventually.

The squadleader needs unique abilities.
1. Increase number of faction pets. Give every faction pet a lvl and give a raise in SL maximum lvl as they raise in Tiers.
2. Give faction pets special abilities. Every faction pet should be good at different things and have unique abilities that only SL can access.
3. Make a overhead map with transferable waypoints, The battleplan idea posted earlier in this thread sounds like a good idea. Make it elaborate with ability to divide ppl into squads and with ability to place patrol routes to time flanking. Squad leader must be able to all patrol routes and at what patrol route each squad is at for coordination.
4. Remove/modify player pet commands. Nobody likes being controlled. When you join a squadleader group make an additional question reguarding accepting this squadleaders commands. This allows the contruction of elite groups perfectly engineered. Also allows for more commands to be implemented.
5. Costumisation on formations. Each group consists of different proffesions, therefore each formation needs to be different. Number each player and pet in group and give them a position with 10m for each other.
6. Bonus stats amplified and able to go over cap.
7. Making of permanent squads. Inside a PA a squadleader should be able to make a permanet squad with all settings able to be saved. With nameable postiions.
9. Disallow CH profession.
