I admit I'm new, but I just made Squad Leader. Can anyone tell me why the xp requirements for skills are SO high?

Because the Squad Leader Xp is so easy to get.

And how long did it take you to get that xp? Including the time it took to put the group together, run out to the mob, kill it and then run back to civilization? I bet I could have killed a lot more than 16 jaxes (at 1200-1400 SL xp per jax) in that time. Well, before jaxes found their running legs anyway... Anyway, my point is to say that SL xp is NOT all that easy to come by....175K for one first tier box is more than 10 tusken kings. How many tusken kinds a day can you kill?

In my experience xp in games (including SWG) is best earned in somewhat smaller chunks if you are going for best xp/time.

Wu'jen also has the distinct advantage of being a Master TKA, which allows him to generate fierce amounts of damage, and thusly Combat XP, which is realized into Squad Leader XP.

Those of us who are Carbineers, and due to bugs, have to use a CDEF or commit HAM-cost suicide, are unable to generate the same amount of Squad Leader XP, even given the same group, or same opponents.

Added to the fact that I spend a good number of my shots performing posture-down moves, or warningshot moves to keep the group working effectively, and thats a lot less damage I'm doing. So while I'm exceeding at leading my Squad, due to the current Squad Leader XP formula, its not really possible to generate huge XP numbers.

Actually quicker than you exploi...er...killing jaxes. In camp tusken I managed to get Master Squad Leader in just over a week. Most Tusken raiders would net me 2,000-5,000 Squad xp and Snipers around 5,000 squad xp, Bantha's 3,500-6,000 squad xp, Captains around 5,000-10,000 Squad xp and kings around 10,000-17,000 squad xp. Not a far run if I died and always able to geta 20 person group for xp.

I managed to hit Master Squad Leader in about a week of 4 hour playing days. Actually with all the new people running into the camp and each one spawning a tusken king its nothing unusal to have around 20-30 king spawn a day. More if you go to Ft. Tusken (but longer run)

Exactly right. Tusken's while equiped with their rifles take 3x the damage from melee attacks (the price for letting a nonranged player get close to you!) I've seen swordsmen do 5,000 mind damage to the tuskens in an area attack. Those are 1 hit kills while fiighting even in a group of 20.

Wow...glad I posted here. I almost didn't post since I was worried it would sound like flaming. I haven't actually ever gone out in a Tusken group...maybe I should try it. A few questions though... What weapon do you use? Will my DLT20a rifle do enough to make trips to the Tuskens worth it? Where do you find/form Tusken groups and how hard are they to form?

I spend most of my time ingame exploring and doing scouting for clients...I don't get much xp at all for that, so when I do find a decent xp source, I try to make up for all the 0 xp time by working that source hard for a little while. Call me a wierd mix of explorer/RP gamer and power gamer.

Go to Wayfar on Tatooine and Camp tusken is right outside the walls of the city. They will be moving it soon so get it while you can!

I would post that you would like to get a group together to hit Ft. Tusken on your server board. I've done thisa few times and have always gotten at least 20 people to go to fort tusken. Its north of Mos Espa if your wondering.

Your rifle will be fine but make sure to bring pets and droids to be decoys.

Cool...guess it's time to try to "exploit" the Tuskens before they change them. Thanks for the info.

Lol trust me you'll die plenty of times, thus not an exploit. When the newbie exemption was in you could do it with hardly a penalty but for myself I don't use armor and I'm one of the few TK's who don't use Vibroknuckles. So it still doesn't matter for me if I die. I lose nothing

Hummm...I'm pretty good at not dying. Let's say I manage to not die while fighting the Tuskens...is it an exploit then?
