Thanks that was both informative and helpful. You can lead more than 20 people you know. Even though only 20 in a group. Everything you have listed as "jacked up" could be fixed without destroying the current system of skills.

Demand more.

lol, try leading more than 20 people...im talking about with sys chat and using some of the skills. A reall group i guess you would say...and i guess for you 15$ is an insane amount of money to pay for this game. But i bet since you would be playing this game you wouldnt need to buy another game therefore cancelling out the money. And the devs can do whatever they want.

and rally does work and improve to hit modyfiers just so you know.

this thread kinda strikes me as funny... 2 folks going back and forth... one saying "Squad Leaders are broken!" the other saying "Squad Leaders are broken!"

I will have to agree that we as SLs don't complain half as much as we should... in my opinion (as I've mentioned here before) we are the selfless player types. So since we're not selfish, bitching and griping for things just isn't in our nature. We need to inlist some greedy folks to argue our case for us... lol

But yes, asking for pretty colors for our system messages is a pretty big waste of the Devs attention. I'm not saying it's not an important issue, but there are much bigger gameplay issues that are making our class pretty much worthless. A completely useless and underpowered SL that can spam your screen in a rainbow of colors doesn't really improve the situation.

While selecting classes to play as I took up Squad Leader for the fact that nobody else was gonna play "the broken class". Mind you I've played broken classes before in other games and they turn out great eventually. I don't know if I see this to be the case with Squad Leaders.

I've been reading your posts and I can't seem to understand why you all feel how you do about what you think is wrong with the class. You want things like pretty colors or taking away exp while solo'ing. This is horrid. Tricks, gimmicks, and fun abilities like volley fire do not a class make.

The firstmost and primary concern with Squad Leader that should be adressed is the passive defense abilities. As far as I can tell they do not work. I've tested dmg over and over without any hint as to how +25 or +30 to def has any affect in the game.

I, like the rest of you, have put MILLIONS of exp points into this class with ZERO useful rewards into it.

I'm not saying we need to revamp the entire system, hell, I don't think you even need to change any of the skills at all. They do need to work however. If things like Rally, Volley Fire, and Boost Morale were to work as they should I would be happy with the class.

For everyone else that posts on this board about new ideas and such I would hate to say it but I believe you are wasting your time with it. The best you can ever hope for is GETTING WHAT YOU HAVE PAID FOR. For 15 dollars a month I expect to get what was sold to me. A game with a class that I like to play. If this were any other buisness we would have asked for our money back already. I lay this responiciblity on you fellow SL'ers. It's time to demand more then "adding colors" or asking for "intent statements for solo'ing". It's time to ask to get what we have paid money for.

I run 20 man, at times 25-30 man, groups quite effectively with the biggest PA on Lowca. I do this quite effectively with the bugged /sysgroup command. I don't use rally due to fails and lack of noticible effect. In fact I use nothing, becuase I have nothing as an option. Yet, still effective in everyway I possibly can be for one man to run a small army. All I am asking for is my money's worth.

I challenge you SWG to makes things right. I challenge you current correspondent to show SWG the path to make things right. I challenge you the readers of this post to lay a foundation that we can be proud of in the months to come so that we all can look back and say "yeah that was worth 15 dollars".

well actually you can only have 20 people groups and rally does alot to hit modifiers...its just medics cant heal or revive players while its on. Volley fire makes medics attack...and its only for one shot.

Steady aim is jacked up as well, almost no defense bonuses, really high HAM costs and terrain negotiation is useless. So what do you mean it doesnt need a revamp. But im not complaing and neither should you so i say shut up, sit down, and let the devs sort thorugh all the crap they have piled up.

i just swiched from DE to SL and the SL complaints reallyare a joke come on guys is that all you can do???

by the way i think changeing the color on the /sysgroup command is a great idea!!

by the way trust me DE is way worse off.... SL are going to have to wait there turn... which will be after DE

we're not complaingin because we're broken, per say, but because our skills, as they are are useless.

I would say it is more of part complaining that a good portion of our skills are broken, and part the rest are pretty much useless

Let me be sure we're on the same page here: the correspondent's job is to simply point out issues and concerns and hope for the best. There is really nothing I, or the next Squad Leader, or the next one can physically do.

I'm a Ranger and it seems our two classes are great examples of classes that form a dicotimy. You have the Squad Leader whos very job is taking care of a group and the Ranger whos very job is taking care of himself byhimself. We seem to do a good job over in our forums taking care of our issues as far as havibng a voice. perhaps you need a few of us selfish players to come on over and yell a little louder. Keep it up SL's we'll get there soon.

yeah what he said, ask some rangers to whine for you, they have lots of complaints and they are very vocal and selfish, i mean hey, rangers are the group that only group with ya for the harvests and camping...
