Devs: Help Squad leaders in 15 minutes.

Look guys we can all think of neat things to do. The Devs are not going to have time to add things for months and months. Here are things they can do to improve Squad Leaders in 15 minutes. SL I surely a week prof right now. Just don't give Group Defense to pets, combos with CH.

1) Make Rally work 100% of the time. (50% of the time powers are stupid.)
2) Make Form up remove Blindness and Intimidated too. (It will still suck)
3) Make /s be /sysgroup
4) Change Sysgroup message from ‘Squad Leader [First Name] [Last Name]” to ‘SL: [First Name]:’ color if easy.
5) Add Defensive Bonuses to the SL himself. Just add Melee Defense +1, Ranged Defense +1 to every box. (Better yet, but may take too much time, is to give SL +3 Raged Defense, +3 Melee Defense for every active member (Not icaped) of the group within 60 ft) Only if SL is leader is fine if it’s not difficult. Yes this needs to add with Group Ranged and Group Melee Defense applied to SL.
6) Add ‘Group Defense’ factors spread out and enough to help people who don’t have defense take more than 3 shots.

Currently large group combat is largely a death lottery. If creature X is working on you your dead, running will not help, there is no time to react or have anyone help you. If you have no defense factors you gone in 6 seconds. In several situations there is no way for an SL to lead the group because being at the front will get you killed in 5 seconds if you are not a SL brawler. Not at the front in the Tusken fort caves? You can’t see anything and any SL powers are useless.

P.S. Please add:
Steady Footing: Group receives 90% immunity from poster change attacks for 60 seconds. This will help with the BH knockdown problem.

Good ideas ? Then please show your support.

I agree with most of this. It is safe to say that the entire tree needs reworked.

I was very interested in squad leader until I read the abilities and then first person accounts on how broken/worthless it is. I just want to say that the Dev's have a brilliant idea for a class here, and it needs a lot of help.In fact, I think the squad leader tree should have even better group buffs. In fact I think that a group that has a squad leader should get a bonus to ANY thing they roll on. Right? I mean, under good direction everyone performs better. If not that, then the SL should have megabuffs in a lot of catagories for his squad. Even don't give the bonuses to the SL himself. (So you can take out the leader, and make a group easier to fight)


Basically squad leaders need to be pumped up a bit. The great part about the profession will come from the fact that powergamers won't want to be SL *ever* because most of the benefits of being one go to the group that the leader is with. It always should be a pretty much selfless profession, but groups of serious players should all want a SL in their squad as bad as they would want a Battle Medic. And the effects should be just as dramatic.
