I was thinking about the ability to have droids with your group and gain squad leader xp. At first I didn't like the idea, although it was a good way to gain squad leader xp while soloing. The more that I thought I about it, I think squad leaders should be able to goin xp with droids. In fact I think squad leaders should have the ability to have multiple droids. The reason I say this is because, this is star wars. There are droid armies in the Universe, so why couldn't a squad leader be able to control such an army? Imagine how useful a squad leader could be if he was able to bring 2-3 droids with him into the battle. I think it would help to make both the SL and the group more effective. Novice SL should get the ability to use 2 droids, while a master SL could be able to use 3 droids. Just a thought, let me know what you think?

It takes a lot away from the Creature Handlers if you think of giving any other class pets.

Hehe, that is near and dear to me, as I am becoming a Master Droid Engineer before I go for Squad Leader. Droids were meant to be used in multiples, they have a command for formations Wedge and Column. Currently they nerfed that though so you can onl;y have one out at a time, AND most of the droids are almost allcompletely useless. (A Power Bot that only powers other people droids? A Repair Bot that doesn't repair? A Surgeon Droid that doesn't heal?)

So I am am hoping that in the perfect future where the devs have fixed everything as Lucas intended , SL will have the ability to have a squad of droids too.

As for CH, who freakin' cares anymore, color me sick of CH whining. The CH can give pre-trained pets to non-CH, thats just like DE. I haven't tested this but, I am betting that right now any droid could be destroyed quite handily by a CH pet. Remember it was the droids that got nerfed, not the Rancor.

I think this is a good idea, but I think the devs should take care of the non-functional abilities the SL already has. Once that is done, if SL still fails to be useful to a group leader, I think this is a very viable addition to the class.

Squad leaders should be the only ones to check out soldiers that you can check out with you faction points, and these soldiers should be able to grow in strength as they fight with you, so if you fight with them for a long time they become better. And you should be able to have more soldiers the further you move up the squad leader tree. 175000+ per skill box dang i hope there would be something to show for all the work people put into this profession.

I think other classes should be able to use faction pets, I don't see why an imperial rifleman couldn't have a few imperial soldiers to back him up. But I think we should get some sort of bonus or perk with the faction pets, and I don't see what squad leaders have to do with droids.

>"It takes a lot away from the Creature Handlers if you think of giving any other class pets."<

No crap, that's a good thing. Creature Handler should be made a lot harder (like with Master Scout prerequisite and a lot more XP requirements), and you should only be able to command a pet that is equal to your CH skill. Give Squad Leaders the ability to command certain types of NPC's under certain conditions, while still allowing Creature Handlers (and only Creature Handlers) touse the strongest and most effective pets (so it doesn't "take a lot away from Creature Handlers"). Then only allow a Squad Leader to gain SL XP alone if he has one of these NPC's (and not at all if hejust has a creature/droid). There'll be a lot of you who say it will give SL's too much power, it'll be too easy, there'll be newbies everywhere running around with them, etc., but I say there arealways limits and conditions you can put on abilities to makethem harder to achieve and less powerful. And I don't think anyone could reasonably argue that it would be impossible to impliment fair NPC pets for Squad Leaders with conditions and regulations. Possible conditions/regulations:

- Reasonable max cap on strength/stats/abilities of NPC pets.

- Reasonable max cap on number of NPC pets commandable at one time.

- Permadeath for NPC pets.

- Reasonable requisite skill level to be able to "train" or "recruit" NPC pets.

- Reasonable maintainance fee/requirement (i.e. daily salary) for NPC pets to ensure that they remain loyal, motivated, etc.

I just think it would be a cool thing for Squad Leaders, and makes logical sense.
