Thread: How do you answer the question Whats a Commissar?
I wear my Commissar title because its very silly and because I get asked this question when I wear it. Commissar is the title from Leadership IV.
I generally get around 20 tells per day asking "Whats a Commissar?" and I bet a fair number of you guys get that too.
So whats your favorite responses? Here's some of mine:
"I'm a communist." (technically correct, check your dictionary)
"I'm an accountant."
"I bake cookies."
"I commiserate over my worthless profession"
or the old standby:
"What do you think it is?"
If they'd spend the time to /examine me, they'd see soon enough, but noooo they have to send a tell! ![]()
"Im the Commish"
"Im a tier 4 leadership squad leader"
"I spent 500k on training and all I got was this stupid title."
I wish tailors could make outfits that only those with the title could wear.
I'd want an outfit like this for Commissar ![]()

That's a really good idea. I'm sure lots of people would like more ways to look unique, and clothing certs at different 4th tier skill boxes would be a neat way of defining who you are. You should suggest this in the Tailor forum.
As for Commissar, the title works for me as a roleplayer; that's essentially the role I envisioned my character falling into with the empire eventually. I agree that it's not a very god descriptor of the tree, though. We're hardly the worst off when it comes to logical titles, though.
The word "Commissar" traces back to German "Kommissar" meaning 'deputy' and Medieval Latin "commissarius" meaning 'agent.' It existed long before thecommiesusedit, so I don't see why weshouldn't use it for our ownreasons. ![]()

Whenever I wear my Carbineer titles, people say it makes me look like a rapist... "Assaulter" ... "Infiltrator"..."Marauder"
So yeah, life could be worse ![]()
Why not just tell them you are in town - oh oh!
(bad song reference)
haha oh so true
