Hi all,

SoI logged in an hour ago with roughly 600k SL xp to go until master. I haven't grouped since the latest xp patch. Within an hour I'd mademy 600 and another 200 to boot.

While I don't believe that's a good thing,I have to say it was extremely gratifying to see those bars fill up so fast. In fact, it was even fun

I know, that's selfish, in point of fact I don't think it'sa good thing at all as it makes the barrier to high level SL way too easy (anyone is potentially able to go from novice SL to master in less than a day? that just ain't right). I feel the pain of those that got master SL holo's, and I sympathize, but I still think this is too easy, the jedi path is not meant to be easy. I've been at least novice SL since roughly week 3. I'vebeen involved with the early discussions on what SLs should be and represent. And in the past I've argued, at some length,that SLs should in fact be rare and draw only players that want to lead and support and play that type of role, and aren't in it for uberness. Over time I've come to agree with the early masters that this profession desparatelyneeds something cool to make it worth mastering, even if it means uber-types flock to it. Months later that distinction, that thing thatmakes people say "Hey, cool! AMaster Squad Leader"is still lacking. I've spent theinterim playing with master Doc and Master Com medic and have found those to be much more fun and much more useful to the group. The nice /sysmessage and occasional /formup I think were seen as nice bonuses, the real value I added to groups support-wise were revives/buffs/area healing. I can say I enjoy the combo and now that I've "gotten mastery out of the way" (see how wrong that sounds) I'm going to surrender a little SL and make a hybrid Doc (0430), CMed(0004), and SL (4,0,3,4) I think and just do what I can to support the peeps...

I really don't know what the point of this post is. I'm elated to finally Master Squad Leader and wanted to share that. But,I'mbummed that it doesn't really mean anything. And I'm of mixed feelings on how rediculously easy the "home stretch" was.
