Stop crying and wait for the patch, I doubt many people are going to quit just because SL isn't what they want. I've been a MSL for about 5 months now and it isn't busted at all now, and I'm waiting for the next major patch because SL is one of the profession to get a revamp. So don't start your crying till after we get a revamp.

I'm not talking about quitting the game, I'm talking about quitting Squad Leader. If we do get a revamp then I will have no problems. But if we don't, I am going to be really upset about it. We are probably the only profession to get any helpful changes and I think that we deserve to be on of the first professions in line for fixes in the next patch. i just hope that we don't get looked over again.

Take it easy Peor. MSL is one of the most frustrating professions in the game just because it sucks atm and has had nothing but a few nerfs since it went live. Nerfs I mean skills no longer affecting pets, xp shooting through the roof, etc. I've been SL longer than I can remember. I was nothing before I picked up SL and have had it ever since. Now, I'm even thinking of dropping 3 trees so I can do more stuff, but when the revamp it I will pick it back up again. This is the best thing I can do. If I keep MSL, I'm pretty much wasted since my combat skills are so limiting. But it isn't the end. Everyone that knows me knows me as an MSL and it will stay that way. I am a MSL even if I drop a lot of SL because I want SL. I stuck to it and I'm not going to quit the profession until Lord Vader declares them enemies of the Empire.

As long as they change the xp with the revamp, then you have time. Drop whatever you want, and when SL hits the TC pick it back up if you like the changes. We don't get double presents because we are still SLs through all the hard times AND SLs suck. I'd sooner give rewards to all my armorsmith and weaponsmith friends that didn't grind their holos because everyone loved the stuff they make for us.

Patience, grasshopper.

This is to the Devs, Change Squad Leader Soon or I am quitting, along with many others I am sure. I have been Master Squad Leader on Tempest for about 4 months now. I am the only ACTIVE MSL on the server. There have been others but they were either holo grinders or they quit because they got so frustrated with the complete waste of 135 skill points. From the first day I started this game I wanted to be a Squad Leader. I have held Master for a time period that is probably longer than anyone else on my server. I think I can say that I am one of the few TRUE MSLs in this entire game (All Galaxies). I have hoped for a change in the profession to make it worth the 135 skill points it requires, but you, the Devs, have yet to do anything to help the profession. I spend 135 skill points to have COMPLETELY NO COMBAT SKILLS WHATSOEVER, NOR DO I GET ANY DESIRED ABILITIES THAT ARE WORTH PAYMENT FROM OTHERS. At least if you are a ranger, you can sell harvested resources, or locate things for people. Squad Leader cannot do anything in the way of services for credits. Andif you think that our being the leader of the group is a desirable benefit, guess again, it is hardly noticable. I have toiled with this profession for a long time. A very long time. I have been in the community's eye as a Master Squad Leader for as long as I can remember. I know that the reasons I am upset with the profession have been mentioned time and time again and that is why I didn't go into great detail with them. I guess what I am trying to say is that I have kept MSL for a very long time, even though it has sucked, because I thought it would be a shame to have none on my server. But I am going to quit Squad Leader if you, the Devs, do not change the profession in the next patch. I can'tstand the fact that I get owned everytime I change my combat skills since I cant' hold any over from the previous profession with my lack of skill points. I haven't been able to have medic skills for who knows how long. By having Squad Leader I have been put at a huge disadvantage against other players, and there are not skills in Squad Leader that even remotely make my sacrifice worthwhile. I can't even type a sensible argument here, I'm so frustarted with how you, the Devs, have abandoned ths profession. How about you do something to it before you fix rifleman, pistoleer, or TKA for the upteenth time.

I'm new to the game, I freely admit that... and I am going squad leader, not because of a holo, but because I want to be able to help my groupin more ways than combat.

That said... why did you pick an obvious support class if you wanted to make money or get combat skills? Christ.. pick up BH, or Smithing if you want to make money or have combat skills.

I understand that SLs are screwed right now (and I still want to be one, wheeee!), but the two reasons you pointed to above show me that you are selfish and want recompse for your skills, rather than being able to support your teammates/friends.

Sorry to flame, but this post makes me think twice about SLs...

SL isn't as usless as you put it out to be, in PvE yes it is that usless but in PvP that is were you can tell that the SL is keeping your group alive. I've been in many PvP raid and the ones I wasn't there for my guild has said that they wish I could of been there because my SL bonus would of helped a lot. I've also seen the difference myself in PvP I've dodge shots and I have no dodge skills and I was being shot at my a master pistoleer, so if you say SL is broke it is usless in PvE but it is a life saver in PvP.

Well I never thought I would say this but afterthree months of being a Master Squad LeaderI think I'll be giving up everything I have with the exception of Field Commander and become a Bounty Hunter for the time being. I've always loved being a Master Squad Leader, but it's beginning to irritate me too much when my group consistently fails to volley fire and all the other stuff that fails. I won't ever give it up all the way, but I'm taking a break from being a Master Squad Leader and I'll try out another mucked up profession like Bounty Hunter for a while. I'll still be able to participate in the best part of being a Squad Leader and that is activating the self-destruct sequence in the faction bases and I'll still have the coolest title and I've never once seen a retreat fail so until it's really worth being a Master Squad Leader again I'll just be a Field Commander.

I have dropped MSL on my live character... for two reasons.

1. When the changes come, I want to go through the levels with hard work, instead of the current system where you can master it in a few hours. (Before the xp change It took me2 months to get Leadership1 after getting novice SL... *sigh* those were the days.)

2. Its giving me a chance to try out other aspects of the game. Right now I am making lots of cash as a novice architect...

I am still a SL on TC though... as I intend to go through and test any changes we get in the future.

Sounds like you just didn't know when to call the retreat from this profession ...a sign of a real MSL.

Well, he's lost most of his mind as a Squad Leader. Not enough left to call a /retreat.

LoL.

He's right in saying that he's one of the fiew dedicated MSLs. Today, for the first time in months, I ran into an SL that wasn't interested in holos. He wasn't near master though.

With Sir Irott taking a break, I'm most likley the only MSL on chilastra. And my ego grows...

Well I will be going with Ragnoan there. I am dropping all but Field Commander and getting MBH. It will probably be at least April when they revamp SL and I might as well occupy my time until then. I still am never looking at a holocron, but I already have BH tree so why not? Maybe I'll keep /formup too, everyone loves that.

Everyone should know when to quit and when they need a break. Everyone I know still calls me a MSL *smirk*
