Don't ask me how, this concept just came to me all of a sudden. Squad Leaders should have the ability to control 3 faction pets at once. This will actually make the SL a desireable teammate, and a feared enemy.

No thank you. Im not here to solo as a creature handler for faction pets. If they make this our profession focus, I might as well just go droid handler when that comes out, or master creature handler. You dont need 3 professions that are identical save for a graphics change on what pet you are sending out.


Our focus should be on building teamwork with other players and encouraging players to group together (under a SL). We can do this by having SL unlock special abiltiies for all members or special profession abilities for each profession when grouped. These abilities can be teamwork oriented, such as a pointman, or cover fire type abilities. We can have our passive modifiers show up in our group member's profiles, so that they can see the benefits of grouping with us.


Our active abilities should be retooled to provide more benefit for less cost/failure rate. Boostmorale should heal mind damage (not wounds) in the form of an oratory speech to the men instead of balancing wounds, which basically only serves to slow down medics from healing any wounds. The only time this is a useful ability is when in a camp with NO healers (rare) or, slightly more useful when with a TKA and with or without a camp, to use their meditation exploit to give everyone a free heal (if you can wait long enough). Volly fire is completely useless as it does not target a specific pool, nor does it allow members to use preferred specials. Id be better off using a sysmessage to supply a target to my group and perform strikes that way. Steady Aim and Rally are redundant (both provide a bonus to accuracy, one for a limited time (during which people cant do other things, like craft) and one that only applies to the following attack (which has very limited use and is barely worth spamming, youd do better to just fire your own weapon instead) Retreat is our last ability, and it costs way too much ham to make it useable for actually retreating. However, it is the most useful ability we do have, allowing SL lead groups to reach spawns in camped areas, such as naboo's imperial research station. Giving every member a free burst run at every spawn meant my group got most of the holocron drops. Bottom line, our specials all need revamping, because they are basically useless to us. Our master box is also fairly drab and boring.


So in summary, if we gain something like role designation or unlockable abilities, get our passive modifiers to show up, and get our active abilities revamped, wed become a great profession that works as we are intended to work, with other players. The NPC faction perks should go along with NPC faction rank.NOT our profession.

You right, I'm not a Squad Leader and I probably had no place suggestioning such an idea. I would like to see SL a saught after profession in groups and raidsthough instead of just one more step on the holocron grind.

Just curious, not to flame, but what rebel faction pet is worth wasting space in a group for?


also all the non-factional alligned SL's would complain.
