Hey people,

i'm gonna be training to be a Squad Leader tonight , and have some questions for those that have been Squad Leaders for a while now :

  • do you have to be the designated leader of the group to get squad leader xp

  • do you get more xp when you use commands like 'Form Up' and 'RETREAT !!!!' or do they have no effect on the XP you get?

  • is it better to get involved in the combat whilst being a squad leader or do people find it easier to play an 'officer' style role (send in the troops and wait for them to do the job whilst safely issuing orders from behind a wall?)

  • what is a good class combo to go with Squad leader - is it better to go along the offensive side (marksmen / brawler) or the support side (medic / entertainer)

Finally if there are any Squad leaders on the TEMPEST server that don't mind training up a rebel or dishing out advice and help let me know - i'll take your names and shout when i need help .

Thanks to all.

Alright, first here:

You must be leader to get exp and use any of the commands

They have no effect, but they do help people killfaster ----> More exp for you faster (everytime they kill, you get exp)

You should be active to be a good SL, thats my opinion any way because then your not really supporting your troops, also if you go out of range, you cant cure states oruse retreat.

It's really all opnion. If you feel that you would be much more helpful, go either CM (ranged heals and poisins) or Doctor (Res', buffs, curing states). If you'd like to be right in the action and helping out your troops (which is whatI like,) go one of the better proffesions like Rifleman or commando.

ALSO I reccommend checking out the awsome Squade Leader FAQ at the top of the page.
