Thread: Squad Leaders should have Range Damage Mitigation.

I think squad leaders should have range damage mitigation. I feel we should be a combat/support class and not have to master another range profession to aquire range damage mitigation...even smuggler get range damage mitigation. We dont have to get mitigation 3 but we should have something. Thiswould cause us to havea specific weapon associated with our class and I'm cool with that.
A squad leaders best weapon is their group. I think the bigger the group the more modifiers that will open for the group. In other words, as the group gets larger the more mods that will unlock for the group.
Example:
1-3grouped member+25 range defense, +25 melee defense, etc.
4-8" " +40 range, +40 melee, (unlockable weapon specials for the group and SL), etc.
9-12.......
(Rough numbers just wanted to show my point)
What I really want to see is when grouped with a SL the encumberence on weapons is lowered.

After thinking more on the encumberance on weapons being lowered when group with a SL, I think it'san excellent idea...this will make the groupso much morestronger. Group members will be able to use more specials more and not have to hit themselves with a stim after 3 shots...that'swhat I find myself doingas a carbineer.

that has been suggested before and i do not really liek the idea as far as the adding of defenses based on group size.
SL's should grant bonuses based upon a flat rate. Otherwise you could have a group of liek 12 people dominate a group of 8 just because they have more peopel in their group and get "bonus" defenses, etc for it. As far as defense it needs to be maintained equally
i wouldnt mind having special attacks available or crewed weaponry
aand as far as ranged mitigation....maybe ranged 1 because SL's do have to take ranged support for SL.....but i do not see SL as a combat class per se so they shouldnt get much of a mitigation.
