Can someone please clarify?

As an SL, do I have to use my /rally command to give my groupmates the ranged/melee defense bonuses from the Leadership and Tactics trees, or are those bonuses passively inherent, and /rally is for something else?

They are passively inherent.

We have no idea what Rally actually does...

Yes, the bonuses are passive. Rumor says that /rally give an additional defensive and offensive bonus, but, it is of course only rumor. As stated above, nobody really knows. Whatever it does is not easily noticed.

Thanks folks. Saves me having to create a recurring /rally macro as well.
