Hello! I just Mastered Squad Leader last night, after about a week of working on the class, and thought I'd pop in to say hi. My guild's SL kept threatening to quit because of his problems with dail-up, and he always made a good addition to any PVP group. So I thought "why not? I think I can tolerate this grind..."
My only complaint with the class (well, besides its other fault of not being useful enough) is that I can't be a Master Squad Leader/Master Commando
I've been reading through the FAQs and other stickied posts, looking for macros mostly... I didn't see many, so I thought I'd ask your opinions. I figured I'd have a macro with /retreat and /formup running continuously, and maybe a separate macro of /rally and /steadyaim for when I have a group that could make use of it.
Also, I read in an article somewhere that all aliases have to be set every time the game is loaded, but none of the stickies mentioning aliases state that. I think it would be kinda crappy if this was the case, which is why I ask-- do you have to load your aliases when you log in?
Well, I guess that's it (for now
). If you're in the Flurry galaxy and need a Squad Leader, send Phoen'ix a tell. Thanks for any help in advance, and I'm glad to be aboard!

the only macro I have an alias for is my /center macro, and I don't have to prime it...

Check out this thread for info in creating your own SL macroes.
Most of these are for immersion purposes (random little ditties your squad leader can shout), but there is also information on colour-coding your /sysgroup messages.
For macroes, put /retreat on a 31 second loop, and formup every 10 seconds or so. That's all I use.

I set my aliases for some fancy /sys work I do months ago and they have never had to be redone.

I have a macro for shouting retreat, fancy /sys retreat, and hittingthe retreat command at the same time. Only for use in emergencies.

LOL! Well, excuse the hell outta me! Sheesh, you'd think I kicked his puppy or something....
Anyway, thanks for the advice, I spent some time yesterday setting up some colored /sys aliases and a retreat/formup macro, and set all the commands to say funny stuff (which will prolly last for about a week before I tire of them and change it to something else).
Oh, about aliases.... is there a way to delete aliases if you screw one up, or don't use it anymore?
Thanks again!

If you screw it up, just type /alias again and start over... it'll automatically write over.... I know 'cause I accidentally made an alias for /whisper because whisper was the name of a friend of mine.
So for a while I couldn't /whisper any chat in spatial.
