Thread: Possible SL-PVP Skill-Target evaluate- For SL Revamp

Okay I always thought that the key to the Squad Leader Profession was information and communication. One thing that I always thought would be really sweet for PvP play would be an enhanced examine command. Basically you cycle through your targets to the guy you want to look at, do /recon and his current template displays. For example if you targeted me it would say

Jounville Blackferne

Scout 4004

Master Marksman

Master Squad Leader

Master Bounty Hunter

But if you were looking at a character I have on another server it would read

Scout 0040

Master Medic

Marksman 0044

Carbineer 2111

Combat Medic 2034

So you'd have to know what the lines meant, but you could see who you are fighting and be able to assess target worthyness accordingly regardless f what Title is above their head.

Thoughts?

Honestly I see this more as a ranger ability then a squad leader, but its cool though.

Give Squad Leaders a Com Link to use in battle to call in Artillery Strikes and Shuttle Pickup, Radar Jamming.

^----- how about a flare gun instead to indicate where to drop the artillery ^_^

Well I think it could easily fit into either profile to be honest, but as I'm a SL, I want that power.

Okay let's say you are going up against 5 people. You see 2 of them have T-21s and 1 guy has a Scatter pistol, 1 guy has VKs, and 1 guy has a powerhammer.

All you candiscern about this is that the 2 T-21 guys are Novice rifleman, the scatter pistol is a Novice BH, the VK guys is novice TK, and the powerhammer guy is at least novice swordsman. But who should you tell your group to attack first?

With this you could say "Hey guys go for this guy first, he has a t-21 AND he is a CM and we don't want diseases."

And I think it should work only on attackable PVP targets and people in your group.

Edit: Also why SL over Ranger? Well as a profession, Squad Leader has more PvP friendly skill set. Just food for thought.

I would make comments on why knowing what template you opponent is would be beneficial, but it would violate CURB NDA. ^_^

Otherwise, I think it would be a great skill to have at master SL.

While post CURB has benefits, there are benefits now. Unless they have a TAG up you don't know who can Rez or disease. One of the golden rules of PvP is take out CMs first. The prospect of AoE Mind diseases is too great to allow them to stand.

And irott has been replaced by hiw Evil twin.

Knowing your enemy is the best advantage you can have, at least to me. If you know what your enemy can do, and what you can do, you should be able to find a way to beat them every time.

However, this shouldn't be a SL thing. I honestly don't know what. Rangers are more for creatures and npcs, not players/pvp. I think this could be implemented for everybody to see the skills for their own faction. It would be nice instead of asking everyone you meet what their skills are.

I'd say this should be an SL skill, much like a ranger creature knowledge skill. Rangers are experts when it comes to wildlife, SLs when it comes to man mangement and battlefield tactics so it deffinately falls into the catagory of SL imo althought I wouldn't have a problem with rangers getting the ability too. Just make it an ability at MSL or master ranger. You use the command and you get a small popup showing what skill boxes they have learned. Big thumbs up here!
