Hi all SLs,
what u think about the following.
I just feel atm, SL picks up too much skill points, and has too less worthy skills. I thought about, why arent ppl grping up that much since the sologrp thing... Now I had an idea about a new skill SLs should get.
SLs should be able to get Missions in the field. One at a time. And through a /getmission command. This shows up a Menu from where you can choose the diffculty level of the mission and the direction and type of mission. The Mission should then still be 1 or 2k away. Especially I feel the ability to choose the difficulty level should be in place. An SL should be able to get always from easiest to hardest mission available in the game.
This would greatly draw ppl to an SL and group up together and do the mission together, as the diff lvl could be set to 255or higher or what ever. A difficulty level that can be high enough to be a challenge for a 20ppl group. Like a Krayt Lair or NS Elder Lair.
Plz let me know what u think about that ability in general.
- Do you think in the field missions should give payout?
- Do you think in the field missions should be able to spawn rare critters like Krayt?
- Would you join such a group for the sole propuse of a challenge? Meaning loot remove from in the field missions and no payout?
Cheers

Never posted on this board before but this idea intrigued me, at first reading the title on the front page I was thinking "what the hell? this could be terrible" then I read your post and realised you've actually put a little bit of thought into this.
Giving the SL the ability to spawn any difficulty mission he wants currently would be a bad idea, I think I'll have that 30k janta mission with no group. But with no payouts and no loot there could be no abuse, it would simply be adding some dynamic combat related content.
Additionally, the ability to spawn rare critters such as krayt and elders, for the sake of a challenge I like this idea, but I also don't like it for the same reason. Part of the challege of these mobs is the fact that they are rare and you have to go out and actively seek them. Additionally, both are required as part of the jedi knight trials, so the ability to gain yourself a private spawn of such creatures would lead to abuse.
Additionally, jedi already run around with a doc alt or melee stacked alt to protect from BH's and gank squads. Do you really want to see them taking SL alts so they can spawn a quick krayt dragon to use animal attack or Elder for mind trick? And unless you remove the xp grants from creatures spawned this way you'll only make the /getmission command a must stack skill for FS and jedi grinding. Hell I'd take it, I'd just spawn baz nitch missions right outside the village and cut out that 10 minute roundtrip.
This is definitely a good idea that should possibly be developed within the community until it reaches a state in which your correspondent can hand it to a dev and say "check this out" See what the other guys say and play it from there.

My point of view would be:
- if a SL gets missions from "tactical command", then the team will sure get some payout.
- the XP for the kills will be given. I see little way around that.
- loot on the targets makes sense
- the targets won't be that animals where people always search for.
In my oppinion, valid targets of such SL-Missions would be:
- a camp/base/outpost of the opposite faction if the SL is in the GCW.
- camps of criminals, etc.
- and for the mercenary or "criminal" SL there should also pop up missions againstgroups like Gungans, Borvos,RSF or Corsec.
Those missions could of course rank up to maximum risk and could include groups of highest level NPCs defending a fortified base. (Yes, base-raids as a mission, why not? If you lack the team, don't take it...) On the other hand, it would exclude Krayts, so no easy way to make those spawn and even get a waypoint to them...
