Hi everyone,

I'm a casual player and just made Squad leader last night. I always liked the idea of squad leader and I pretty much always lead now with my friends and we do well. However, after getting all excited after training....I come here and find out the class is worthless and I might as well give it up. Well maybe we should do this...

All Squad Leaders give up the profession...pass it on to every squad leader you see. We should go on strike until the Dev's give us some sign that they are listening/working on our problems. The correspondent can then let the Dev's know and they will surely take notice that all Squad Leaders have given up the class due to the Dev Teamslack of help/information. If that isn't a square kick in the frontal pants region then I don't know what is.

I know it sounds childish but think of it as a strike...besides, maybe we should all go CH?

Part of being a leader is sacrifice. SL are bonus to others not themself's.

It isn't really worthless. I like the profession. And plus, the Dev's are listening to us. They just have so much to doand so many other people to listen to, they can't deal with our problems right away. Imagine every board on this site being combined into one. Imagine how many posts that would be, how many ideas and thoughts andcomplaints. That's basically what SOE has to deal with.

But if you want to drop Squad Leader, be my guest! The fewer the better.

Hmm...Odd, I was trained, to lead men, and if needed sacrifice men for the greater good, and still lead men...Now, if being a leader was "sacrifice"..why don't we see generals in the field, in front of the men..or heck, even the lowly squad leader of a lil 5 man squad walking point for his squad?...

Being a Squad Leader means taking the decisions for the men you are leading, keep them away from danger, and when in danger, so whatever it takes to get your men out of danger, victorious, even if it ment sacrificing a man......Being a Squad Leader, means you are a benefit to your team. Without you they would be no squad...The squad should get benefits from you, and you should get benefits from your squad.

Being a Squad Leader dont mean that you have to jump on a grenade, that you have to shoot yourself in the foot, so your men can retreat while you stay behind shooting the enemy...You got men to do those things..

Yes, people in your group should get benefits from having a SL in lead. Yes, a group should be a more efficient group with a SL in lead.

We are not beneficial to the group now....We are just another man in the group..with the title of SL..and the best we can do for a group is to do huge amounts of damage to a mob....or send a "/sysgroup run, I'll hold em ba...dang..I died"

When the Star Wars world ends, my reason for being here ends. Thank you Helios_SOE for making that clear to me

Then the class needs to be renamed "Martyr"

Iagree with Wolfmann31.

Being a Squad Leader is not about self sacrifice. It's about holding a group of people together so they are more effective and more of them get to come home alive.

I have led several sucessful hunting groups. I have led people to hunt Kimogilas and I have lead a group that COMPLETELY took Fort Tusken. It usually takes a while to build up the group cohesiveness, but once the people under my command begin to understand how to work as a team, that synergy thing kicks in and we accomplish great things.

A few times I have died while leading a group, and once I meet back up with them I always get the same responses from the team players. "When you died the group fell apart and we started to get slaughtered."

A Squad Leader makes a group more effective through leadership and good orders.

A Squad Leader makes a group of 20 people who are soloing together into a unified team.

i have decided to keep working towards SL. I will make it in a week or so. I hope they make is useable, it sounds kinda pointless right now but every adv prof except maybe the crafting ones sound like they have issues.

I wanna play a lot of PvP once i get my char a little more competitive. I hope they change PvP so the battles aren't so short.
