First let me start by saying that I am not a squad leader, but I have had the pleasure of having many of them lead huge hunting groups and expeditions, and they are quite the assett. Squad leaders are a way to keep a group in check, helping them aim carefully, boosting morale and what not.

Forgive me if this has been posted before, i read back aways and found nothing of the sort, i might have missed it. Here is my suggestion, I propose that the developers give voice commands to the squad leaders. For example, lets say PlayerX (a squad leader) was leading an attack on a group of skilled NPC's, and he wanted to tell everyone "Fire at will", i think it would be neat to give the squadleader a command (outside of sysgroup) that would play a human recorded voice on everyones computer saying "Squad, fire at will". These commands could be stored on the hotbar and would make it alot easier then having to type out sysgroup messages for simple tasks.

"Squad, fire at will"

"Squad, move out" etc. etc. etc.

Just a suggestion, like i said...I apologize if it has been suggested before.

That's what my group uses Teamspeak for.

Yeah, our PA uses teamspeak as well, but what about the times that your leading just a normal non-pa hunting group or raiding party?

I think it's an awesome idea. Not everyone has or can use teamspeak. You don't always need something as extensive as teamspeak. Sometimes you just need a few simple commands that you don't want to have to type out over and over.

I think this ability should manifest in the form of an item, like an intercom, that only Squad Leaders can use. It would contain a list of messages and allowyou tochoose what kind of voice you wanted (gender, pitch, volume, tone, mood, etc.). The item would be activated with a text command followed by the message you wanted from the list. As a text command, you can make more advanced macros with it and still have it in your toolbar. Once you send the command (or clickyour macro button), it can be heard by everyone in the squad and also displays a sysgroup message of the command.

If you wanted to make it more complex, you could have layered commands. Like "Team A", "Team B", etc. So if you just wanted Team A to "Fire at will!" you could type (or make a macro of):

/commgroup team a
/commgroup fire at will

And the result would be what sounded like someone saying "Team A, fire at will!" The devs could play around with it in a lot of ways. Sysgroup is cool, but it's not quite enough to make Squad Leader worth it.

I think it would be cool to have a voice command menu, like we all know from Counterstrike or any other team FPS. They could just make one set of male and one set of female voices, and use radio distortion. That would be good enough. It would piss off roleplayers though when a wookiee squad leader started using it. But let's be honest, how many people in our groups are there to roleplay?
