Thread: How to get attention to the SL profession...
Well been thinking about this how about......
Vem quits the SL correspondant, they then offer it to some other shmuck from the SL forum - who then says "no Im not going to be correspondant - The entire profession has been broken since release - no way am I going to be SL Correspondat when the whole profession is broken"
They then offer it to someone else - who says the same thing, and so on and so on... maybe just maybe they will get it into there thick fuggin skulls they have an entire profession which is next to useless.
If they still dont get it and give it to some gimp we make his stay here unpleasant until he quits the position.
Hey I know it's quite militant, but my tether is growing quiet short been waiting since well into beta for some sort of semblance of a profession instead a broken pile of cack I have to spend 135 skill points on getting to and it dont do much.
And as for the people saying a million subscribers want some special shot nerfed - bollox to them. When you have a product you fix the core issues, and when you have an entire profession not working properly you take care of it - you dont arse about with adding content or adding +2 damge or -1 damage to the cdef pistol to make sure it's properly balanced.
Sure you can cover a big pile of dog shiet with chocolate icing to make it look tasty but when you bite into it you are gonna get a big mouthfull of the dirty foundations.
Another letting off steam thread brought to you by Naff-Pilot.
other profession seem to have correspondants that really seem to acctualy care about their profession, there boards have stickies for FAQ and guilds and reports on what the Devs are currently working on and huge threads regarding what the players would like to see as added content for those professions.... what do we have? a list of trainers..... other corespondents seem to participate in discutions by putting in input and sugguestions, so far i havent seen our do anything but say things like, "no that wont work"
we need a corespondent that its going to work harder then any of the other profession because your right, our profession is not in demand, no one cares if they have a SL leading their group becuase we are basicly useless.
OmegusNeo , you're going to make this almost too easy for me to reply to.

Show me any one instance that shows I don't care about the profession. Just one.

1) We tried the FAQ, only 3 or 4 people replied. If you want a FAQ, go to www.swgcenter.com and click on Profession Guides on the left column.
2) The Dev's have told me nothing, so what do you want me to post?
3) First of all, we have like 1/10th of the population on our forums as the other one's. Look at the total posts, we are near the bottom of the list. Second, we've had dozens of posts like this in the past and they were all contimplated into the recent correspondent report which, also, has gone unanswered.

The only thing I said won't work is the "squad leader camp" thread. I forwarded it to the Devs, of course, like I do all idea threads. What more do you want? I put my personal comments in and I can also tell you nearly 100% that that's what the Dev's will say, too, because I know what they think on most things. They absolutely hate any cross-over things. I dont have nearly 1100 posts sitting on my butt. If you want my input and suggestions, simply do a post search on my character and read the HUNDREDS that I've posted and the half dozen to a dozen more I post each day. It's quite ignorant to say contrary.

The large % of correspondents have already quit in frustration. If I do that, it shatters the small personal link we already have. If you think you can do a better job and/or that I am doing utterly terrible at my FREE VOLUNTEER job, click the link at the top of the page and e-mail SOE and tell them. No one is stopping you.
I have read every single post on the SL board over the last 1-2 months and i can tell you one thing we got a **edit** good correspondent. He does work hard for us.
I remember when i started the famous "SL petition" i was thinking that it will be any day til we get a response. and Cap vem later said that no matter if you get 100 responses or 1,000,000 it wont matter. i wanted to prove him wrong so bad. but do you know who was wrong??? ME, because it didnt do **edit**. they really arnt listening to us. so what i thought was a pessimistic attitude by vem was really just experience talking. so lets shut up and stop blameing him because he is the best friend we got.
Zal'hanan Master Rifleman / Master SL (bloodfin)
I was taken back by some of Vem's responses at first too, but then I went back and read a good deal of the long history of posts on this board.
He's already done all the research, he's asked all the questions, the community gave their answers, and he's posted his results and sent them to the devs.
Now it's a waiting game. What else is there to do? Not much but keep bugging the devs, which he consistently does.
There doesn't appear to be an effective method for getting things done with SOE that isn't already a part of their own plan. Honestly, harassing the customer service phone line is probably the most realistic idea anyone has had, but could easily have... uh...random results.
One can hope that eventually they'll spare us some of their time, but given how long it's taking them just to fix recently introduced ability-killing bugs (almost 10 days now), I'd say a profession overhaul isn't the kind of thing you'd want to hold your breath for.
Our captain will go down with his ship... He is devoted.
Its just not a hot profession. Merchant gets lots of attention because it is important to the economy which is one of the most important parts of this game. The scout and ranger correspondants have each other to back themselves up.
What do we have? A great person that cares about the most broken profession in the game. Bar None.
Anyone who puts down Vem is an idiot. He's definitely the best correspondant around. I've been CH and BH and we never get replys or any threads from those correspondants. I don't even think they read the boards. I can tell that Vem cares about the Squad Leader profession and he reads every post.
Don't listen to him Vem, you're the lone bright spot on this otherwise dark, forgotten profession. Keep up the good work!
