Question for all you SL vets....what is so great about the Intimidator? It's high SAC is killing my action, and my FWG 5 does more damage and a higher DPS.

Intimidators have the stat caps as a FWG 5, with the exception of the wound - the Intimidator can have almost twice the wound chance. If your Intimidator has horrible SAC, it is because the weaponsmith made it as crap. This is typical of most off vendor Intimidators because there are so few SLs. Order a custom.

The thing that is so great about the Intimidator is that only MSL can equip it .

If you have a look at this thread in the Weaponsmith forum Crafting Weapon Caps you can easily see that for the FWG and the Intimidator the damage, speed and SAC cap are the same.
So if you ask a good weaponsmight and bring the good components with you (reinforced casing, BH NPC loot) he should be able to make a intimidator at least as good as your current FWG5 (though we dont know any of your stats yet).

Besides this there are only some minor differences (when I recall it right the featherweight FWG has some skill bonus and they weapons slightly differen in wounds, though wounds doesnt realy matter anymore) its just a personal preference.

As DPS only matters when you are using ranged shot a lot of ppl tend to judge a weapon by its max damage rather than its speed.

In case you are lazy here the stats of the crafting caps for a intimidator and thw two different FWG5s
(damage slicing caps are always lower than the crafting cap, thus damaged sliced weapons never can be as good as crafted weapons in term of max damage)

SAC 65 for all pistols

Just had a friend of mine made 2 for me with some BH loots (reinforced casing). Stats are pretty good, and I threw my FWG5 away - all credits to cigue for the crafting, used some of the best ressources on Kauri -



Alpha : (99% damage experiment)


Damage : 382 - 948


Speed : 2.09


SAC : 74


Base DPS : 318.46



Omega : (one less point in damage, one more in SAC)


Damage : 371 - 942


Speed : 2.09


SAC : 71


Base DPS : 314.15



So with proper loots, Intimidator pistols looks just great. Wondering how to slice them now, any idea ?

Damage will not help on either (you've already surpassed the damage slice cap), so don't bother there. I'd look at speed, SAC, or critical chance. Speed cap for pistols is 1.73, and SAC cap for pistols is 65 so you have room in both those directions.

Slicing for SAC is news to me.


The options are between critical and speed. The theoretical info would say, a 10% critical gives 10% more damage output on average, making it the better choice. Though, testing showed that a critical hit is not +100% (as described) but rather something like +40%. (Some speak of up to +60%, some of +25%. It can be that the actual increase depends on the minimum damage of the weapon, nobody tested that thoroughly, as far as i know.)


Anyways, the point of this is, quite likely you are better off with a speed slice. In case of doubt you can get one sliced for speed, the other for critical and then find out which one you like better.

Mines Stats


Attack Speed 1.87 DMG 363 - 948 Wound 26.45 SAC 65 Estimated DPS 350.72


When crafted it was maxed on SAC DMG and Wound.....had the speed sliced. Not to bad if you ask me... Also got a extra one with almost the same stats.....capped on everything but speed and has no slice.

not really My Intimidator pistol is dmg caped(948), sac caped(65sac), and only 1.11 speed
moded with MSL/MBH

I'm just praying that one day we get to dual weild some Intimidators...*drool*...


And the reason you use them is because they're so damn cool, and you might be the only one you'll see that actually carries one.


oh yeah, decent stats too as several people pointed out...
