The Ranger Enhancements,
... but be aware they are changing the overall theme of the ranger.

I myself cannot judge the change of direction in which Rangers are going now, but as it looks from the DEV thread about 50% of the ppl including Rangers are interested in it and willing to give it a try while the other 50% consists of ppl who either dont like it or are very undecided.

The discussion thread, with helios posting in there and answereing some questions.

The only thing I envy is the amount of communications the Rangers got regarding some of their concerns and question, though the DEVs avoided the hot topics, as well as that they have gotten a Star Wars Galaxies Webpage dedicated to it in the In Concept Section.

If anybody of you followed the DEV tracker, Holocron is posting in Shadowfire, and his posts were pretty interesting, about "theory of fun".

It looks like they are trying to enforce a better communication between the player base and the DEVs.

With this sad, they have revived the In Concept - In Development - In Testing - In live Cycle and they are aware about the larger/meta group issue, although this is a very very very early stadium. I would say they are only aware of it so far but thats all.

p.s.
any news from TC ?
Regarding to the Status of TC thread, SL is again not on.
Anybody can confirm this?

edit:
p.p.s
my bad, where in the in testing section on the SWG homepage

Well, it all looks pretty cool. Yay for them! But as you asked, what about us?

Hmmm, wonder if a SL/Ranger would be possible or even viable? j/k Seriously, that looks cool and I'm hoping my ranger friend finished his thesis soon so he can see this.

Hope I'l be seeing more rangers in my groups then. I've kind of been waiting for rangers and commandos to get fixed up moreso then my own profession, glad to see it happening somewhat.

Yea... this new ranger concept looks sweet. I see several advantages:

  • It looks very helpful to any PvP team. I will love to see those people in my group.

  • It will draw some of the FOTM mass who will crowd into SL out again after a short while.

  • It seems to be very helpful for BHs, so i guess it'll reduce the number of SL dabblers we'll see.

  • It gives Rangers a real profile and task, instead of just being a better ressource gatherer.

  • It allows Rangers to have even more style than before.

  • It makes sure that Rangers are still welcome at the Smuggler/Commando/Ranger/Squad Leader BBQ.

Yeah, I've always liked Longsnoot (I used to play the pen and paper game). Thought he was pretty cool in the movies. Those dark shades, the cloak, and liked the idea of him. Anyways, if this does go through, I think I have a toon that I could do this with.

Still no pre-publish 24 on TC, Squad Leader is the same on Test as it is on Live, hopefully it will be back on next week for testing.

And on a side note, 95,000 more Combat XP to MSL on TC for me!

Not exactly sure why this is ont he SL forums, but so be it..

Is anyone else frustrated by the fact that the Rangers get a nice dev post detailing everything that's "in development" about their profession, when the first the SL's heard of their revamp was when it showed up on TC? We didn't get any chance to "discuss" our changes, we just got "Here you go, enjoy it or change profs". What happened to the hundreds of thousands of posts we had about ideas that were disregarded and ignored to give us 2 forms of burstrun. What happened to Recon abilities, dropzones, extractions, Overt in the field, etc..

Just another reason to wonder why I keep playing.....

Actually a Dev did post saying that were workin on our revamp before Publish 23 hit, and a thread was used to discuss it.

The first I saw of it was here : http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=in_testing&message.id=82125#M82125
IN the pub24 patch notes... Was it posted somewhere else I didn't see?

If you mean all the "We want to do a revamp of SL. What do you think we should do?" threads, I'm talking about ones with some real meat of what they are going to do. They've created about 3 of those in the last 2 years, and it seems not a single suggestion we made in those threads was actually used.

Nope. The actual first info on what we'll look like in the future was when pre-Pub hit TC. Would they have given us earlier info on what they wanted to do, things would look much better.

Just take a look at Rangers now, they also see some issues and make them public... and by doing that before the code is made and changing anything is big trouble, they will hopefully turn out much smoother than we at the moment seem to do.

Ya, we didnt know what was comming but a Dev did post saying it was comming.

Well I read the post like the devs didnt mention it was comming, when they did, not that they didnt mention what they were doin.
