Thread: just tested boost morale in a group with an AT-ST...

Thought this might help to redistribute the mind wounds on an AT-ST, so it could be gradually healed, by distributing to group, then using entertainers to heal group mind wounds, and repeating.

Now, before starting the AT-ST had 300 mind wounds, no one else in the group had any at all.
Using boost morale gave everyone almost 100% mind wounds - we all had 1 mind left, so it was obviously counting the AT-ST's mind wounds to determine how many wounds we got, however, it did not reduce the mind wounds on the at-st.

So, a couple of issues there.
1. It gives the group massive mind wounds without healing any on teh AT-ST. This makes the command useless in a group with faction pets (didnt test with a CH pet yet..) as everyone in the group just gets massive wounds.
2. It gives medics and entertainers a limitless supply of wounds to heal = unlimited XP from one command.
3. It opens the way to exploits when you get -ve amounts in a pool which dont incap you (drugs/drink/food effects)

Not to complain...but I wrote about this three weeks ago...it works just like this with CH pets also. It creates a limitless pool of wounds.

The inverse exploit is much worse... group in a pet who has no wounds (and we all know how easy it is to heal pet wounds) and the boost morale will magically heal your wounds. For example:

Player 1 & Player 2 are grouped. They sustain some wounds, and have 300 HAM wounds each (even, for sake of example).

They each bust out 3 uninjured pets, and group them. They now have an 8 man group.

Player 1 uses boost morale. Their wounds are summed (600 total) and split among the group members (8 of them). Player 1 receives 75 wounds, Player 2 receives 75 wounds. However, a bug prevents ANY of the pets from receiving ANY wounds.

Now they have 75 wounds each. The animals remain unwounded. Another boost morale gives leaves each player with 18.75 wounds. The next one leaves them at 4.6 wounds. The next one at 1.17, and the next leaves them fully healthy.

The net problem is that even though pet wounds are being counted in the boost morale formula, boost morale doesn't effect pets. You get wounds if the pets have wounds, you lose wounds if they're unwounded. Period.

This is a pretty well-known bug. Unfortunately, if it didn't work this way, boost morale would be possibly the worst active abiltiy we would get. As it is now, we're capable of sinking lots of pool wounds, which is pretty much required if you're doing PvP against a CM or commando, and to a lesser extent BH.

Yeah check DiLune's thread on "Boost Morale Exploit" it has a lot more testing and evidence of this in it.

Although I admit Noules was right in that the pets were most likely wounded (don't know why they were, but that's irrelevant.) But the bottom line is you can produce an infinite number of wounds or heal an infinite number of wounds depending on what your pets look like since they neither lose nor receive the wounds but are figured into the wound distribution.

So tempting to group some of the total lamers Ive met ingame, then get the AT-ST out and /boostmorale & disband after giving them 100% HAM wounds

Heh. I've used the "stay in line or I'll use boostmorale" a couple of times on my group. Mostly in gest. Mostly.
