I need help determining what to pick up and the benifit.

I am currently a MBH and MP with some FS stuff. I am dropping FS and thinking of picking up SL or at least 2 lines. What should I pick up and why. I do not hunt Jedi as my connection does not allow it (dial up). I am mostly support and Solo work.

My alt is a Ranger/Rifleman and thanks for the kind words I have read.

Meridith/Kordia

PS the reason I was thinking of picking up SL was to boost my defenses and help out my guild in PVP or group hunts.

Hmm, with the old (and still current) system, i would advise to go 0300 first. This gives you Volley Fire, our outright most valuable skill... though, that's not defence but massive offence.

For group defence, i would go for the 0004 direction. This is "only" ranged defence, but you get retreat along, which can be quite useful if applied properly. (Though, not for retreating, in general...) It also gives you rally, a medium-termed buff to give everybody in team higher accuracy and defences.

Unlike others, by now i feel that in the still present SL system, the +30 defences (and that only as MSL) matter little in comparison how much defence some players have by default. Thus, if you only want to dabble, i would at the moment consider going 3301. This way you will give good group terrain negotiation and have volley fire and rally at your disposal. (Of course i also admit, if you are BH, the 3000 are a total loss for yourself, it's only good for the team... )

If this still is too costly, i would go 3300, but that's just me.

Anyways, the SL will change soon, so i don't know if changing to it still is worth it for you at the moment. And up to now, nobody can really give you advice on the new system, as it's only been on TC for a limited time and was plagued with several issues.

And as a small last sidenote, if you want to use SL for yourself, you need a pet or droid to group with... without those, the abilities and modifiers are not working.

I'm not big on jedi/FS so I may be wrong, but I thought you couldn't drop FS boxes. And I would wait until next publish or at least till the revamp gets back on TC before you choose what would suit you best.

you can drop fs boxes, but you can't drop force progression boxes.......you can't unbecome force sensitive, but you can surrender boxes to recover skill points
