Squad Leader Archive

As to what's to come in Publish 10, I can't answer that, nor can most people here with any degree of certainty. In most peoples' opinion, the profession is somewhat broken, and I can't tell you what fixes are coming or when they'll get here. There's a lot of frustration in the Squad Leader community with trying to do what we do with a lack of proper tools to be better in our jobs. That being said, however, what I can tell you is that for the time being (and probably since day one, for those who've been a part of this community for that long), most of us are squad leaders because we like the challenge and get satisfaction out of leading our follow players and helping them acheive their goals. If you're looking for a profession to make you "uber" or "elite", you might want to try something else, and I wholeheartedly and sincerely wish you success in whatever enveavor you wind up choosing. This profession isn't for everyone -- the "magic powers" just aren't there. If you're committed, though, to the idea of being a combat leader in this game, I say go for it. This profession has few real "material rewards", but as for me, contributing to a sucessful mission, hunt or raid is all the reward I need to keep me going. If you want to be part of this profession for that reason (speaking as probably the most junior member here), I say "Welcome to the Club."
