What are good combinations with Master Squad Leader? I'm preparing for the eventual fixing of the GCW and will be hopefully taking part in PvP skirmishes and large-scale battles.
I haven't played in several months, but from what I've read here are some possibilities...
A tree or two of Commando is possible but very costly, though I like the AE possibilities. Rifleman also has good AE specials, but must stay in the rear. Carbineer has good status effect specials but high HAM costs. Pistoleer seems a good balance of offense/defense, but lacksstrong offensiveAE.
Thoughts?

Right now i'm an SL 0 0 4 4, Master Pistoleer and a Rogue and i think this is an interesting combo. Before that I was a master SL, master scout, ranger 0 0 4 0 and pistoleer. Since camps are pretty useless now adays though that template is a waste of skill points.

Master rifle goes well with Squad Leader, and some medic couldn't hurt.

Looks like we can go MSL and MBH with the BH requirements being changed.

0/0/4/0 Ranger <-------- Tracking/ High Animal Harvest

For me it is (will be) Master Squad Leader and TKM. It gives me the ability to lead the troops and take part in the battle. The problem I have with this though is that it's VERY hard on the mind pool.

I am a Master Rifleman/ Master Squad Leader. Good combo but who knows after revamp. One template i am considering is MSL/ BH pistols line/ Pistoleer 0/4/4/3 (not in that order but thats what you can do) becuase of the upcoming duel wield option for pistoleers.
Really their is no uber template. What ever profession you choose, you must learn the ins and outs to be succesful.

I feel as thoughthere is really only one template right now if you want to PvP
Master SL
Master Rifle
from here you have 2 options.
you can go pistoleer 0004 for additional defences, or got medic.
It is up to you as to what works best for you.
If you play in a place like I do, most pvpers have doc so they can cure DOTs. so as a SL the best bet is to buddy up with one of the more defensive minded guys in your group that is a Mele/Doc, and well they are responsible for your cures and close range defence. This is when taking the pistoleer is best as you are cured by others.
A real nice group to pack together within your war party is to have a CM with you as well and also another doc/ranged.
this group of 4 can absolutely protect you forever, and well at the same time the 4 of you can dish it out like crazy. now this is just one small team within your group. the other 10-15 have their own "chores", but with this set up you can run up into anything and be relatively safe while dishing it out like mad.
If you have to rely on yourself a bit more, than take the medic

But thats just me

I'm still a firm believer in SL/Carbineer.. I hang in the back using /volleyfire, /formup, and /steadyaim to keep things going.. And throw an occasional /chargeshot2 for effect
It works great when I have a melee heavy group (which I usually do, swordsmen & TKA are all over Radiant), because I can use Chargeshot to knock a target down then call it with /volleyfire & /sysgroup, and everyone gangs up on the one guy while he's down for maximum damage.

yeah im SL and Carbineer and i like it a lot. Although there are some things that suck i find it to be an effective template. I usually do the formup and steady aim when necessary and then throw some burstshot2 and full auto area2

Another Master SL / Master Carbineer here. Yes the specials costs are killer, but buffs and/or groupplay help mitigate them.

My problem with TKM and Squad Leader is still the mind. I'm finding that since I mastered SL, I'm attacking less and less and focusing more on actual group organization and skills.
I find it works because what my group will lack in that extra little bit of punch, they make up through the SL specials.
And if I ever see a dangerous situation where things are getting hairy, I can always run in and spam some Unarmed Hit 3s.

Any thoughts on Master SL/Master Swords? I am toying with the idea of changing from Master Rif/ Master Swords for a change of pace.
