I saw a Squad Leader today that had mastered no other professions! I had to tell him I was one no longer (he saw my badge) but I will be going back to it soon. Made me happy to see someone that took up the profession because they wanted to. *sniff*

When i first became a SL, we used to hunt on Endor and bring our dancer guildee along. Well she was very happy that she could run up hills with ease.
Also I'm one of the first SLs on our server that pvped full time. Now months later you will always see SLs lead the good pvp groups because I helped open ignorant eyes that SLs are a key factor in pvp, even though it is currently limited.
I was also nominated for SL of the year on Kauri in 2003, I lost though

One of my proudest. Well this isn't anything like the first one but.
Being able to manage a group of 20 stranges who I don't even know and they follow me because they had serve with me in PVP or when I was a SL doing Rancor missions and we worked perfectly in the DWB.

First time:
I joined a hunting party and became group leader. The group was quite good already although nobody knew each other bevor. Just a little tweak and guidance from me, we were buffed and unbuffed together and we hitting spawns and lairs in notime.
After two hours hunting, yepp it was a BIG group, Zib asked me join his guild because of my good "leading the group". It was an awesome party and I was very proud, since all I did ingame technically was: rally and shoot with my DH 17 carbine and telling ppl to watch out, stick to gether and all the other things I just copied from the "do you talk like a squad leader" post....
Second time:
I had my Master Squad Leader Tag ( how do I long for those days again, /sigh, ah Im almost Master Carb, then I can redistribute my BH and MM skills to Master Squad Leader again) and as usually just joined a hunting group and /tell'ed ailoovi to join, with who i was hunting already two or three times bevor.
We were about almost two hours hunting, got teamwork working quite fast, usually after the first two lairs, somewhere in between ailoovi said: "Liong Kicks Ass !"
And i was very very proud of that, since I had not aquired quite a good fighting skills then and those were definitly not meant. In addition it was th first time ever someone said that to about my char!
I joined on that day Rebels Red Circle and had a lot of fun there.
and this is an ongoing story...
I spend a lot of time in spatial and groupchat to coordinate the group and "roleplay" the hunting out, spamming just funny things or commands. I give away a lot of brandy to newer players who overuser specials and heal as good as I can, to keep everybody alive.
And in most cases, those end with something like this:
"Yeah this was a good hunt." - "This time not everyone is running around like an idiot." - "Tell me when you hunt again...."
That approves me every time that I have taken the right profession....
edit: for spelling

On a second server I've started a "vacation" character who is a CM/Carbineer(just got novice in both this weekend). I was grouped with a large group (10-15 people maybe) who were off tho it Mellachie(sp) for somebody's Jedi Trial thing. Even though the group was full of TKMs Master riflemen etc I still felt compelled to give me normal strategery run down. "Posture down>knockdown, apply states etc etc" and then I realized I wasn't a SL there and I felt

At the beginning of JTL I ran into a fellow MSL looking over the specs of his ship. We started to talk and the conversation turned into a three hour venture as we talked about formations and strategies up in space. We were both so wrapped up in the Squad Leader mentality of talking strategy and swapping stories that we didn't notice the other pilots crowding around us and listening to what we had to say. Well, I can tell you that it was pretty embarassing, but we both knew that we wouldn't have talked to each other if we weren't SLs

One moment that comes to mind quick for a moment of pride was when I got news of a Live Event in Bestine, a number of Rebel Rear Admirals were there. I missed probably the first 70 - 80% of the battle, but I asked to be invited once I arrived. The group leader transfer leadership to me without me asking, so here I was unbuffed and unarmored, using rally and formup (thank god all my stats are not in mind :smileytongue
, and mostly just pointing out where the next target was and who needed healing. Well, after the battle, I decided to stop in the cantina for awhile. Well, one of the guys in the group was there and he saluted me and thanked me for leading them to victory, saying I did an awesome job as the squad leader.
My funniest moment, was after JtL came out and I had been flying with some friends for a few hours. One of them suddenly says over groupchat "Its weird fighting with Mardius without him shouting "Pikeman" (rally) and "Swords for Everyone!" (boost morale)."
