I disagree.... but i would agree with... Dont use RECURSIVE macros.
Im just about to starting macroing my SL commands now i've hit master. However, NONE of them will be recursive. Im simply macroing so i can get some RP flavour when i use my commands. I read somewhere that i could use html commands when using /setformup etc commands. This is what i want macros for - not so i can be lazy and not have to decide when i should use which skill... just so it looks better

Surely you would want to rally as well... Formup isnt needed every 5 seconds (unless your group is bad enough to have constant stun and dizzy states on them...)
Using retreat all the time .... hmm cant see how this helps to be honest, any jedi in your group definately wont be thanking you for using retreat every 20seconds.
steady - 20 seconds
formup - 10 seconds
and a normal formup on the toolbar just in case

If you plan on pvping, this macro above will create a big red X over you. Here are examples of non buff bott macros.
/sys \#00ff33\ %TT needs medical attention ASAP!!
/yell Medic!!
/sys \#00ff33\ Commandos ready your launchers and prepare to fire!
/steadyaim;
/sys \#ff0000\ Concentrate firepower on %TT!!
These create tactical macros and keeps you away from being a robot.

I use these too, good for when not all of group are on comm's
