i had this template before cu. think it was: SL 2044, CM 4044, and Doc 3000. dont remember exactly, but was something like that.

was a very fun template, pvp power with your evil cm stuff. and the doc part you could heal your own dizzy, so the SL commands never stopped. (this was _very_ nice in krayt hunts) and you could boost moral when you got to many wounds from mind heals

how good this template is now, i have no idea...but could be worth a shot

i hate to let the secret out but this template rocks (sidenote this only rocks if you don't plan on soloing) as a squadleader i can keep my team on thier feet.(and rez) this is especially great when your short on healers for your squad (i kept novice med 0440 so my heals are worthy). the only downside to this is the depletion of the blue bar. if i sit down when idle between battles i can keep up. i dropped down to novice pistoleer and i'm still hitting for the same damage. don't want to drop drag incapped player. but i do miss stopping shot. might switch it up but i'm definately keeping mcm/msl

this template worked out to a level 80 character.

I currently have this template and have to strongly disagree, it is great for soloing pure melee mobs. What I do is reduce their movement speed, and attack speed (these debuf's do not cause agro)then get 35m out and DoT them and start running and shooting. With the added terrain negotation you can just kite the mob all over the place without even taken a hit. It has to be a pure melee mob though if they have a ranged attack it doesn't work. I am working on adding the 4th tree in Pistoleer to this template also for the added defense.

My original "completed" template was: SL 0004 / CM 1004 / Doc 0400 / andCarbineer 0040. In retrospect, this really sucked - but at the time it was kinda fun leading small groups, throwing heals, laying down suppression fire from the rear and rezzing as needed. This was in the late summer of '03 back before the great posture-change nerf that made the Infiltrator line of Carbineer all but irrelevant.

I was happy to see that with the change in CU pre-reqs that this support combination becomes somewhat more tenable. It looks like MSL/MCM + Carb 0040 works pretty well (at least on paper). I might grind it out on TC just for giggles.

I use this exact template on my combat character. Works great. I love playing the total support role.

Master Combat Medic

Master Squad Leader

with 0004 Pistoleer. (you get a great "root" skill with Improved stopping shot)

With all this you get certs for 2 Master lvl pistols (SL-Intimidator and CM-Alliance Disruptor), the Flare gun pistol, and a very nice carbine (E5?). You also have mitigation for Assault (SL) and Battle (CM) armor. The defenses are great too.

My template is pretty standard i guess.

Master pistols, master SL, CM 4000.

Its a good all round prof i think, do ok on my own and obviously even better in a group.
Get to wear all armour types, with only a slight disadvantage on fire rate with battle armour.

I was thinking about dropping the master pistols and getting master CM too, although i would miss recon armour too much.

I've got master squad leader, master combat medic, and 0130 pistols (intimidate shot ftw!)

I'm loving this combo for group raids. Against easy targets I just let my group shoot away and I keep up the heals.

against elite mobs I'll stack dots and debuffs, including intimidate, then sit back and rally/heal.

I'm a MSL/MDoc/NCarb at the moment.

The Novice Carb will have to go away with the Village stuff, but that's OK. I basically just got it so I'd be a bit more accurate and defensey with spamming away with my basic attack. I'm planning on dropping carbines to pick up pistol or rifle, depending on what kewl lewts I have in inventory that look like fun to play with for a while.

Doc uses the mind pool, and SL seems to hit action a lot. So, I'm pretty well balanced on my drains.

I can heal and rez, and focus entirely on group dynamics as my sole mid-combat task, which makes things pretty streamlined. I'm short (no Bothan jokes please) on the ranged and area heals, but I can keep a bacta infusion on everybody and just do touchups with my other heals.

Since I get to control the pace of combat, to a certain degree, I can make sure that my party is all fully buffed in between encounters... which is good if you've ever been a doc trying to buff and had your party leader start running off or calling bad guys for not paying attention.

The downside is that I have too many specials to hotbar all together, and having them macro'd together causes SWG to attempt either the first or sometimes just the last, ignoring the ones in the middle. So, I'm working on a solution for getting that squared away.

I'm surprisingly hard to drag down... my defenses are decent, though not to a tank-level. I do much better with a pet or a group, but even with a pre-CU-BE-CL10 pet, I can take on equal challenges without too much problem.

My damage output is terrible, of course, which is fine. I mostly shoot just to mark targets for group. Fighting solo-plus-pet, I have to take about 3 times as long (a wild guess there) to bring down a target, as my more damage-inclined sibling does. I'm giving some consideration to dropping my ranged skill line and getting the pre-CM line, for the ranged and area heals, and just focusing entirely on my basic shots and group dynamics.
