I actually see little use for it. The commando weapons have some effects built in, but commando doesn't give you special attacks. Squad Leader doesn't give you those, either. That way, your damage potential is way too low for a commando.

Pretty much what Sylow said. There is actually a large thread on this, probably on the second page, if you want to read more details... has almost the same title as yours

This is actually my template right now, plus Pistoleer 0013 for improved Stopping shot. I only finished the template this morning and didn't get to try it out before I had to leave, but even last night with Pistoleer 0001 and the normal Stopping Shot. I have several low level specials from the Pistol tree in Marksman, but my judgement is still out on whether or not I like the template. Like I said - i just picked up Improved Stopping Shot and Fan Shot this morning and didn't get to try them yet. Maybe I'll try them tonight and repost tomorrow.

Either way, I am very tempted to keep these professions as I feel they will both get tweaked UPin the coming months and I want to know how to play them well when they become good by themselves (crosses fingers)

Oh - and those MSL weapons ROCK! I only whip out the PFT when I need it...

Difficult to combine anything with squad leader realy. Since sl has assult armor mitigation and pistols has recon, there's no build with sl that will give you ok specials damageand decent mitigation.

You kinda lost me here, but that's not too hard to do. I can wear a full suit of composite armor with no penalties at all. Is that bad?

Well I'm not too sure how armor mitigation works, does it stack with two professions with the same armor certification? I'm not too worried about that since I dont use armor anyway, its the grind with pistols thats getting realy tedius since I also have to work on unarmed.

Armor mitigations do not stack. The highest value mitigation for the type of armor you're wearing is the one that goes in effect.

I have a guildie who is a MBH/MCommando and that seems to be really powerful because of those weapons with BH specials. I think its sad that the SL/commando profession isn't as powerful as it could be due to a lack of specials, but whatcha gonna do?

Cry I guess...

But if this is not fixed or mentioned TO BE fixed soon I may just drop Commando and be a Bounty Hunter Squad Leader...

Get Pistoleer 0-0-1-3 and spam Improved Stopping shot with your Plasma Flamer?
