Thread: Whats your combo with Squad Leader? What is the best Combo with Squad Leader?
Am I correct when you mean combo, you mean like Pistoleer, Combat Medic etc? Mine is Master Squad Leader/Master Pistoleer. The best, in my opinion, there is no "best" for now, you're stuck with pistol xp to raise SL, but after Master, you can do anything. I was going MSL/Rifleman, because you are further back from the others but close enough to still be able to use your skills and change tactics at a moments notice. Hence why I'm also Master Marksman. And after some things get dealt with, I may go back to Master Rifleman. Now currently, it looks like Squad Leaders and Pistols are the best thing, not because I say so, but because there are several SL Pistols out there versus what I know thus far, 1 carbine and 1 Rifle. For months I had the same debate that you're having. I knew I was going MSL, but wasn't sure what weapon class. Plus, it also depends on what you see the toon as. Support? Maybe go with doctor or CM. I personally feel that there is no "best" other profession, but what you see your toon as which determines the best.
I know that this probably doesn't answer your question, but I hope that it gave you some things to think about.
MBH / MP / 0404 SL with the +10 range arm for the win... Check out the stats with a skill builder, there is no other ranged setup with more defence than this build....

MSL, M Carbs, BH 4004
Nice defences,Cantank quite well as sometimes I need to with the Damage/Aggro I produce from my E5 Carbine, Also If Action gets lowI can use Dual Stance andrecover some green bar, Speed isn't fantastic (95 i think), But If I can assist the tanks and take some aggro away from the healers its another benefitto add to the already beneficial group mods & moves I get with Master Squad Leader.I find Im more of an asset to my squad than I was pre CU ![]()
All the long range goodness of Rifle with some extra mods and the best of carbine, charge shot. Very useful I feel. Although it's a matter of playstyle.
I tried Carbine and I didn't really like it.
MSL / MRM / BH0440
Bounty Hunter gives you added defense, speed and some usefull specials... Underhand Shot, Confusion Shot. Underhandshot followed by Headshoot leads to some very nice damage numbers. The terrain navigation numbers from Scout Exploration when coupled with group Terrain navigation makes for some good crawl speed (usefull for Rifleman). Could never see myself without maskscent. ![]()
On the flip side of the coin, my main toon has always been a group support character. As a guild leader I often feel a duty to look after the welfare of my little family, so pure group support has been the order of the day for a while now (I can use my other characters for solo adventure).
I went with MSL/MCM (and novice BE just fit too, for base demolition).
Pros:
- Completely oriented for looking after my group : SL buffs, area heals
- Useful debuffs for crowd control, especially Paralyze which can put at least one enemy out of the fight until we're ready for them - works well with volleyfire to ensure the group don't accidentally break the root
- DoTs help to negate the general weakness with my pistols (no specials at all!)
- In a group, the +50 TN bonus replaces the TN bonus they took away from my CM with the CU
- CM rez means I never leave a man behind

Cons:
- Pretty weak solo : low defences, low accuracy and speed. But with the dumb level system, that doesn't matter much in PvE, and besides - I'm tailored for group work.
- CM heals are pretty weak after the CU. Might bea better healer in combat as a doc (ironic, huh?) - but the loss of the debuffs would reduce my solo capability.
- Zero special attacks
