Thread: Basic break down on SL after CU

What about the powers ?
- We have rally giving a 45 short time buff to ... I forgeot, I think it was accuracy and damage, as well defensive bonus. Recharge is 60 seconds leaving just a 15 second gap, needs a windup thus your not allowed to move ( IMHO a bad idea, I should be able charge into the battle with my team).
We have steady aim, increase accuracy for teammembers dont know how much since its not showing in the toolbar. Has a windup.
We have volleyfire, paints a target, IF your graphic cards support the effect. That target takes 15% more damage. Dont know about a timer. But the recharge is IMHO far to long.
We have retreat, good as always.
We still have forum up clearing two apparently negligible effects, but -it looks like- we are loosing it in PvP since the DEVs rather nerf it than fix it because of Jedi/Bh whining.
We have boostmorale you take about 10 times less wounds thus its not needed anymore.
Why the hell do you get pistol XP instead of SL XP ?

Is Master SquadLeader still worth being ? - Should i change to a new profession ?
- Not the skills make the SL but the character/player/attitude makes the SL. Im still one, but you might template rather then be MSL. See the SL template factory for some none MSL templates
Is SL still supporting a group ?
- We re talking about 8ppl groups, the SL is still supporting but since 8ppl groups can organice themself without a SL youre not that much needed anymore. The old 20ppl group which realy needed a leader are gone. As support some migh rahter take a good doc or good CM but a jedi can heal better than a Doc/CM thus you might want to take a jedi (pls insert random jedi rant/nerf about this in here).
Since i get Pistol XP, do SL have to use pistols only ?
- nope you can almost use any weapon you want as long as you have the right level. Some weapons have skill requirements, check this for weapons invididual or on the WS forum.
It might be that you are forced to take pistoleer to advance in SL since I dont know if they have fixed it so you can hold enough Pistol XP to buy your SL skill boxes
Is SL worse now, then before ?
- Objectively, we're just a little bit worse then before, but since all other profession got a pretty good fix we are way behind all other professions.
In my eyes were going the way of the smuggler/Dodo ... although we might not be alone, Rangers are currently joining our path since they got it even worse. As the only "only PvE" class they arent even counted as combat class.

I liked playing a group supporter. My template is/was Carbineer/Medic/SquadLeader . I liked being in back, healing, using SL powers and laying out states ; Doing the Support role. I don't understand how one can do this if the poowers don't work in PvP. This doesn't make much sense to me. I thought the SL advocate and everyone was saying we'd be more important then ever after the CU. It seems, to me , we're more of a joke, then an asset.

That'sfor/formup andonly in the TC patch notes, so we don't have further in-detail info on it yet. I still hope that it's not as bad as it sounds...

Nope, it doesn't. But it marks the target (sufficient graphicscard given) and gives a definite reason for everybody to shoot the target: higher chance to hit and 15% damage bonus.

Though, i tend to be somewhere in the middle of the fight... about PvP, /formup is supposed to not work any more in the future, /rally and /steadyaim seem not affected and /volleyfire alone is worth it for many...
Though, i also have to warn you, the "laying out states" of the carbineer currently is far from what it was... still fun, but no mass stunn/dizzy/knockdown any more... at least not at the moment, Carbineer just gets some fixes, perhaps things get better there soon, at least we can hope. ![]()

Put in the medic again and you had what I had pre CU. But with everybody able to use instant stims I dropped Medic though I still miss it. Though CURRENTLY (dont know if its Bugged or working as intendent) Medics/Docs/CM cant heal incapped ppl. So there goes another nerf/bug/what ever to live and nobody knows what to do or think about it.

Yepp Carbineers lost about 80% of the stats they could apply.
Currently we can +snare+ and +knockdown+ as carbineer. And that only to a single target, though the damage output of a carbineer is nice, I would prefer some more meaningfull and working stats combined with area attacks rather than a single target high damage ouput.
Hope for suppression fire and wish TAfirehawk good luck that he gets that fixed in a way the community wants it. But I dont have any hope anymore what involves SOE DEVs work.
