I hate playing solo, I find it boring. Further, I like playing a support class, something that makes my group mates better damage characters or last longer. So I turned to an SL. I originally wanted an SL / CM (with some firepower) before the CU but could not do to the skill point investment, but now it's different. Anyways, here are the three templates I'm thinking of doing. Master Combat Medic has to be a part of the template.

Master Combat Medic

0034 Squad Leader

4000 Bounty Hunter

0004 Pistoleer

This template gives me a boost to my buddies ranged and melee defense. As well as a few solid SL skills as well. I have the added defenses of duelist stance in BH and a solid root from the pistoleer tree.

OR

Master Combat Medic

Master Squad Leader

0004 Pistoleer

This template gives me the full potential of a CM and SL with a solid root. However, I lack the defenses given by duelist stance.

OR

Master Combat Medic

1434 Squad Leader

0404 Pistoleer

Here I get some of the best SL skills plus some TN. I also get a solid root as well as disarming shot which renders a weapon useless for a short while.

What do you suggest? I personally like number one as it will allow me to last longer thanks to duelist stance, but I could be wrong. Please give me your opinions.

Well I'll give you two templates that my girlfriend and I play as a pretty solid duo. We combined can make a strong start to any group.

Me: MBH/MSL/0440 Carbs

Her: MDoc/MPistols/4000 CM

If you figure that the four main parts to any group are Tank Nuker, Healer, and Crowd Control we are able to each do those pretty well.

I am the tank and have enough firepower that I can maintain aggro and deal a good amount of damage withe the MBH and carbs, She is the best healing template without mastering CM (and the difference in healing ability is minor) as well as a solid CC specialist (of course some overlap with my dabble in Carbs). If our group gets larger we can each drop one role for a different one. Usually when there are more tanks I'll be able to be more SL support and guide which I like and less nuke and tank. If there are smugglers or other pistoleers she just goes straight healing(which she prefers) and if too many docs...hahaha likethat happens.

Well, for me I went full support and I think it works out quite well.

Master Squad Leader

Master Combat Medic

&

4/0/0/0 Bounty Hunter

This is really an amazing combination and gives you alot of control over the groups defense and offense. 1) Obviously the SL/CM mix with no weapons means your doing nothing but watching the group like a hawk and that makes you a very very dedicated healer. 2) When it comes to hunting I setup a macro for volly fire and several CM debuffs. 3) If things gettoo badyou obviously have your CM mezes and snares... i.e. a paral/retreat combo. And 4) 4/0/0/0 of BH allows you the defense stance for when you do get targeted but also the ability to use your golden support template to assist other BH on jedi hunts.
