Thread: Suggestion for Retreat
i don't mind being weakend...i just want to be able to keep up with my group via a faster burst run timer.. retreat can only be used when your full on, so its really not being used as "retreat". if my group needs to run from an enemy chances are i don't have enough pool points to retreat. so its really just "group burst run" so we can get someplace faster on foot. it saves no time when i cant keep up and they just have to wait on me.
in fairness a faster burst run timer is a little greedy ... maybe just let the ability apply to the sl as well would be a better idea.

Exactly my problem, too. Perhaps a quick and dirty fix would be to make it use mind instead of action. I can't (yet) give a logical in game explanation, but for functionality it would simply mean that mind would be retreat-bar of the SL. As long as you don't go SL/Doc, you don't use the mind bar a lot and can trigger retreat any time. If that then uses up your mind-bar, you'll not be able to trigger it again for some time.
The idea is not fully grown yet, i see/feel that this concept might have some balance issues, but at least it can be thought over...
- retreat can be used at any time, low action won't block you from using it
- retreat should include the SL, he won't be able to use the normal burstrun for his escape any more.
- somebody who cleverly handles his action might still support the escape of his team by applying rally or putting something like root/knockdown/snare on a pursuer, but has to be very selective in that
- triggering retreat seriously reduces your offense potential. Not recovering action means that you can use a little number of abilities and then will be drained. (Even ranged shot uses a small deal of action, thus even that attack won't be available any more soon...)
