Thread: Intimidator/E5, MasterSL Weapons: How should I make them?
What about you SL types? How should I make your weapons? State your Template too so I can see exactly the background your coming from! I'm sure a SL/BH will respond different than an SL/CM.
My current Specs on the Intimidator are: 388-790 Dmg @ 2.00 Spd w/ 97 Sac & 12 AccBonus!
My current Specs on the E5 are: 451-885 Dmg @ 2.30 Spd w/ 91 Sac & 12 AccBonus!
Should these be modded to lower speed? Thats the only problem I could see with either. Prehaps possibly to keep the SL always ready to take action?

I acutally mostly fight with a 115 SAC gun at the moment... not because it's good, but because i got it cheaply and can replace it easily. For tough fights, i got me a krayted one with SAC 80 and damage instead of speed.
When things go tough, i need my action bar and if it's just to activate the retreat command, whoch has prohibitive costs. Also, if you open up an attack with the complete steadyaim/rally/volleyfire combination, you'll be low on action right when the fight starts...
as a SL, i want weapons with a low low low action cost over low speed. when i'm leading a group of advanced level players i find that i use my SL specials more than my BH or Rifleman specials. ( my temp is MSL / MBH / Rifleman 4030 )
build low action, decent speed, decent max damage guns for me. oh, and that accuracy bonus would be sweet too, but can live with out it.
im trying to make my weapons according to the purpose of the profession its certified. therefore, an m.carb/m.sl, would be holding a e11m2 if meaning to deal damage, and a e5 if meaning to stay always ready and keep their action high, all while being able to keep an autoattack on.
i read this board occasionally as i'm thinking about picking up some SL and CM while keeping Weaponsmith so i could still help out a group in the field quite alot with over a good 100 points dumped into my crafting. i've noticed many SL's appreciate their professional weaponry certifications as it helps create a unique image for themselves, so it was one weapon i wanted to make sure i got just PERFECT. although, i don't mind as this is one profession with killer weaponry, i'd take the e5 over the e11m2 and all pistols except the featherweight over the intimidator. although its kind funny as these two being some of my favourite guns to tweak, and with SL's so few in number, my loot enhanced weaponry vendor nevers sells any e5's or intimidators and about 1/5 of the items on it are either one of these two! anyone need a good deal for either on eclipse ?
You should end up with wepaons which have nice SAC, good max damage and an unmodded speed of between 2 and 2.25, which is fine because anyone with a single combat mastery appropriate to said weapon will take that below 2 with their speed mods, and sub-2 seconds is all you need unless you care about firing specials 2/10ths of a second faster.
EDIT: Also, with SL weapons, avoid using any pre-CU componants or enhancments(krayt, gorax etc) in them if you're just going to stock a vendor. Make a post advertising that you will make them on demand instead, as that way at least you wont end up with a bunch of useless weapons filled with expensive parts, but those SLs who want them can still come to you, and will probably pay more than they would for a vendor gun because its a custom service. It's not like you're going to be overrun with SL customers at the moment

To be honest mate, all you should be thinking about is SAC and max damage. There are several posts going into why on various forums, so I wont explain it again, but you should experiment all weapon componants for SAC, then dump any remaining points into damage, then reverse that for the final combine. Only put points into speed if you have them left over.

yes yes, read those posts, authored many of them even and pioneered the brand where i play myself. i know how to make weaponry (sorry bud, your process is wrong btw! id be willing to help you get some decent numbers going though if interested!), thats not the question here.
that is all irrelevant. dl44 xt is a weapon anyone can use. i offer two models of it. one with 795max/2.07spd/89sac and another that 792max/1.89spd/101sac. obviously these are meant for two different styled templates, the first being for those with a lot of Shots and a lot of Speed, the later being for those with little shots and little speed. sac only matters when your using shots, so if your just using default, sac doesn't matter! the exact same reason as to why i offer two models is the exact same reason I began this thread. i'm unsure of the needs of a SL, i made my guess, created the schems and ran off some testers. they did amazing at the shop everything compared and sold at the rate of 1Intim:2Renegades at my shop. but before i jumped the gun and claimed i got the formula perfect on my SL weaponry considering the sales vs a 792dmg/2.09spd/82sac renegade priced only 2.5k more, i wanted to get the opinion from the guys on the forums, the ones that probably know SL the best. even though the weaponry is selling very well, id refuse to offer that model if there was a better way to create these guns.
moving on,

I guess I am a litle different then. I am actually a SL that intents to deal damage, states, and use SL functions. I have a 320 est dps Intimdator with a 108 sac. I didnt know it was possibly to take the acc bonus off in exchange for less sac I'd love that.
its actually not. or, not how you believe so. its not a direction conversion with some ratio. it gets a little trickier. adding a scope adds accuracy and speed. a WS may try to counteract that speed increase with additional experimentation that would be used on sac otherwise.
my scopes are tuned incredibly well. the +12 accuracy bonus is acheived with by adding only 0.0053 speed. this means in 53% of all possible situations across any single attempt, speed rounds up an additional 0.01s, and i dont try to counter act that. of course, ill let that 0.01s slide.
The Dawnsorrow rifle works quite well for me. I am a Master Rifleman/MSL (of course) and I have a Mod'd DPS of 460. Cool shots too =P
I'm an MSL/MBH/0404 Pistol and I use the following weapons:
- Intimidator pistol - 540 dps
- E5 Carbine (occasionally) 460 dps
- Dawnsorrow Rifle (primarily as a ranged support weapon) 450 dps
I always swap back to my Intimidator when things get in close. I've tried the template with carbs and rifles instead of pistols, and I've found the pistols just give the best overall template, and my intimidators were always coming out either better or equal to one of my other weapons. I do have a proton carbine, which is a great weapon, but I prefer to use my MSL weapons, as I only use BH for the stats. I am and always will be an old-school MBH from back in the days of master marksman/master scout to get BH, but since the CU came in, and I've tried other templates, I've gone back to it again, but only use it for it's utility function in combination to MSL, which as a guild leader, is a nice profession to have for leading the troops.
