Hey guys two questions for you:

1) The Emperor's Retreat - where is it? Is it like Jabba's palace with a bunch of quests? Do you get faction points for succeeding in them? I'm Imperial (duh) and lately have been trying to grind up my faction points - is this a good way to do it?

2) What do ranks in your faction do and does anyone have a list of the names of them and at how many faction points you get them?

Ranks give you diddly poo in terms of perqs. All they give you is a larger maximum FP capacity. For instance, Lance Corporal is 400 points to get. If you are a lance corporal yourmax FP is 4040. It costs 800 for Corporal. Max FP is 8080.

Emperors retreat is in Moenia on naboo (nearby) I'll let you explore to find it though. Best way to get FP (if it still works, I've been non-faction since release) is to get in a deliver group of 20 people. No other way to get mass FP besides going to a battlefield.

1. Emperors Retreat is on Naboo, about 3k outside of Moneia. I full and complete spoiler for all 31 missions can be found on http://www.swgcenter.com or on http://swg.allakhazam.com/. You can also find it here in full (http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=game_guides&message.id=19273&highlight=faction+rank+lance#M19273). In short, each mission giver hands out 5 missions, complete those 5 missions and you move on to the next giver. You only need to do the first 5 to enter into the retreat and see Vader, Thrawn, and the Emperor. The missions range from mind numbingly easy (i.e. run out 1k in this direction, get something from this NPC and run it back to me... duh) to extremely hard (i.e. run out 5k through red con aggressives with 10k HAM, find this group of 5 rebels guarding 2 rebel generals with 15k HAM... and kill them all...annnn go). It says in the spoilers to have have 1500 faction before you start, but in reality the Themeparks are broken, and you do not ever get something in your back pack. By the end of the missions, you get around 600 faction points, see some cool things, and follow a very cool storyline. One major note: go covert before you do this. There are usually 5 to 15 people running around this place at all times, and if you are Overt and aggro thier missions targets before they reach them, you screw them out of the mission and they have to restart. Be curtious and go covert for the duration.

2. Factional ranks only provide a bump in the maximum amount of faction points you can store at any given time. Rebel and Imperial are only different in that the Imperial have one additional upper rank. A simple search on Game Guides for faction ranks will yield a post entitled "Faction Ranks)". I will cut and paste from there:
{* ----- cut ------- *}

Anyway, the ranks (lowest to highest)....

Imperial:

Private, Corporal, Lance Corporal, Sargeant, Staff Corporal, Staff Sargeant, Master Sargeant, Warrant Officer II, Segeant Major, Warrant Officer I, First Lieutenant, Second Lieutenant, Army Captain, Major, Lieutenant Colonel, Colonel, High Colonel, Brigadier General, Major General, Lieutenant General, General, High General, Surface Marshal. (23 total)

Rebel:

Private, Corporal, LanceCorporal, Sergeant, Staff Corporal, Staff Sergeant, Warrant Officer II, Master Sergeant, Sergeant Major, Warrant Officer I, Second Lieutenant, First Lieutenant, Army Captain, Major, Lieutenant Colonel, Colonel, Brigadier General, Major General, Lieutenant General, General, High General, Surface Marshal. (22 total, no High Colonel in Rebellion apparently)

{* -----paste ------- *}

As to how many faction points for each one, I do not know. I do know that it is linear so far (400 for the first, 800 for the 2nd, 1200 for the third) so I would assume the highest is 23 * 400 = 9200. This being the case, it would take a whopping 101,200 faction points to gain the highest rebel rank, and 110,400 faction points to gain the highest imperial rank (or roughly running5,520 destroy missions yielding 20 points a pop).

Finally, as your rank goes up, you are worth more to kill. Killing a regular overt nets you 20 faction points. Killing a Private nets you 22.

Hope this helps.

The grouping and doing delivery missions doesn't work. I tried that with a group of 4, and no one got faction points for anyone else's deleivery. All anyone got was the credits. And the missions at the Emperor's retreat are far to easy.
