Very simply, in the event there are more than one SL in a group, a master SL would have the ability grant a field promotion to one or all of the SL's.

The promotion would allowone SLto use one of their skill trees with a reduction in effectiveness.

i.e. Lt. of Mobility (for a lack of something more creative)

The cumulaitve terrain mobility and burst run efficiency would be granted to players, butat 50% of what it would be if that person was the leader themselves.

Just an idea.

Interesting idea.

How about as a Mod: Superior Commander

THe Squad Leader can group with up to 4 other Squad Leaders who are in control of their own squads already. He can choose to apply any one tree of his to each and any of the squads, to supercede what their squad leader provides. This also allows the coordination of multiple groups.

Perhaps make it only a Battlefield ability, and of course only usable once the class' abilities are fixed.

Awesome idea Rosstefarian. Layering of Squads, hierarchy of Squad Leaders.

Nice idea I like it.

I wonder what would be easier to implment with the existing code. Those are the ideas that will get done

I was thinking of something much along the same lines. As a master Squad leader get the ability to Form Raid party. Using something much like the EQ raid system the leader can set loot rights and kick people out etc. . A few changes only groups lead by squad leaders can join the raid. Have the Master squad leaders special commands like rally, volley fire, and form up work for the entire raid.

I'm really not sure that with the pace of the fights and a lots of people involved, any player would be able to have a clear idea of what's going on and how to give adapted orders to react to the situation. Briefing and making 100 players to react to a situation you can't exactly figure out because you have no real strategic evaluation tool looks unrealistic to me. I'd rather let individual squad leaders decide on what they have to do, each of them leaving their squad the margin of manoeuver they see fit. All squad leaders can still create a commanding channel and chose a "general", anyway.

I guess this spot results from a problem specific to our class : if another player in the group is also squad leader, on of the two has nothing to add to the group. And I agree there is something to look after in this direction.

Maybe we could somehowredefine the 4 current lines of specialisation into 3 and use the freed 4th for a specialisation as assistant leader that would work only when grouped but not group leader.

Yes, SL is definitely a class you only want one of in your group.
