Thread: Possible Ideas for Squad Leader Skill Tree...
Hello, while I do pay attention to the boards I seldom post anymore, (usualy makes no difference and the Post goes unnoticed)
Im a Squadleader on Wanderhome, I enjoy leading groups, so this skill while currently not very good is handy to me as a player (and as a guildmaster for guild outings)
Im sure we are all in agreement that squadleader needs some serious work/overhaul done on it, while the devs might not give a **edit** about us, and certainly not fix the skill anytime soon we still try give ideas on how it could work, compared to other skill trees - it's a total waste of 70 odd skill points atm.
Well even though this will go un-noticed by those powers that be here are some suggestions to an alternate skill tree.
There are 4 routes to take upto master and these would deal with specific areas and bonuses, im not going to bother giving them cool names just list skills and how they could would work.
Novice Squad Leader;
Sysmessage
+5 Mobilty (terrain nog)
+5 Group Melee Defense
+5 Ranged Defense
+1 Faction Pet
10% XP bonus on Mobs (added ontop of the increase in xp for mobs when grouped normally)
Group One;
Tier 1;
15 + Mobilty
15 + Burst Run Eff.
Tier 2;
10+ Mobilty
Ability: Group Burst Run - much the same as Normal Burst run but for the entire group and the cost is the similar say 250 HAM(total not individual) BUT it is on a timer so you cant do it every 2 minutes
Tier 3;
5 + Mobility
10 + Burst Run Eff
15 + Time reduction between Group Burst Runs
Tier 4;
5 + Burst Run Eff
10 + Time reduction Between Group Burst Runs
10 + Stat Recovery - as in regeneration of HAM to the whole group, while this might seem Like alot it is not considering average regen for say health = 5 a sec it would be boosted upto 5.5 etc etc.
Group 2
Tier 1;
Ability: Target Painting, which would cost say 15/15/15 or some combination of 45 total, what this would do Is give a message up on the screen saying to switch to attacking the current group target Press ** (being the defualt key say Home for example - rebindable via options)
Tier 2;
15 + Target Painting Eff (ham cost)
5 + Damage Increase (when attacking Painted target)
5 + Group Accuracy (when attacking Painted target)
Tier 3;
15 + Target Painting Eff (ham cost)
5 + Damage Increase
5 + Group Accuracy
Tier 4;
Ability; Pinpoint Focus on a target : This high end ability would Focus The groups damage they deal to a target specificly a HAM bar, (the one being That is the MOST damaged on the squadleaders target) this can be quickly used to Help takedown Big monsters in a more coordinated fashion. Time Limit between uses.
10 + Target Painting Eff (ham cost)
5 + Damage Increase
5 + Group Accuracy
Group 3;
Tier 1;
Ability; regrouping skill, This low end ability will clear Stunned/blinded/dizzy de-buffs from all group members
Tier 2;
I believe this bonuses should effect the Squad Leader when not grouped aswell
5 + defense increase to knockdown
5 + defense increase to posture change
Tier 3;
5 + defense increase to knockdown
5 + defense increase to posture change
Ability: Final Effort or some sort name, this ability done by the Squad Leader Halves the time-counter for people that are currently Incapacitated in the group, so for example 90 secs incap would be reduced to 45 secs. (Timer Limit On this would be better than Huge Ham cost)
Tier 4;
10 + defense Increase to Knockdown
10 + defense Increase to posture change
25 + reduction to Final Effort ability (therefore 75% total reduction)
Ability : Boost Morale : hehe - this ability Equaly distrubutes Damage amoungst the group, and not god **edit** stat wounds ![]()
Group 4;
Tier 1;
Ability: Rally ...similar to what it does now but doesnt fail all the god **edit** time
Tier 2;
5 + Melee Defense
5 + Ranged Defense
Tier 3;
10 + Melee Defense
10 + Ranged Defense
Tier 4;
10 + Melee Defense
10 + Ranged Defense
20 + Rally Cost reduction
Master Squad Leader
+1 Faction Pet
10% increase in XP for group
5 + Melee Defense
5 + Ranged Defense
10 + Mobilty (terrain Nog)
5 + Group accuracy (on painted target)
5 + Damage Increase (on painted target)
10 + Stat recovery (again that is a total of 20% increase sooo.... 5 points recovery per second would be changed to 6 points per sec)
Thats it, similar Levels indefense to what we currently have, and a few more extra things add to make the skill a little bit more on par with other skill trees, anyway this is a suggestion and not a set in stone must be this way design, just a possible basis to start with or tinker with.
