DUM ROLL

We can only have 3 in faction pets!! I think it's cool that the pets grouped give us exp, by the way to alot of the people complaining about them taking exp away from you, just give them the command to guard or stand by while you solo. You get crazy squad leader exp this way. However, back to the initial point, why is it that the people who are supposed to be the leaders of soldiers in the game only get the same amount of faction pets as NON SLs? We should be able to get at least half of the group max in Faction troops IMO. That would sure make up for the fact that you get NOTHING at novice. I rally my 10 dark troopers MUHHAAHA!! But seriously, I was really looking forward to leading a large squad of guys around just for kicks, and now that is shattered.SL is still cool and I am still gonna be one, but I think they should give us the ability to command more pets.

Be a creature handler if you want pets.

No ESD. Be a Creature Handler if you want creatures. Troopers aren'tcreatures. Be a Squad Leader if you want troopers, and let us have 10 of them. I'm becoming very tired of this unwritten rule that says only CH's can command things.

pets isnt' what I want, I just want to command troops everyone calls em pets so I fall into the habits. I am just saying that we are commanders of soldiers so we have the opportunity to get more than other people. that's all. Besides can't a CH only have 3?

I'd rather see us get our own brand of completely customizable generic troopers.

I would be cool with that too, especially if you wanted to stay neutral. I think you should have the option of using faction troops if you wanted to, and maybe you should get on a diffrent rank track than normal people for being a squad leader.

most people say the reason we have the same amount of pets as everyone else becuase the trooper we are to command are the player... gee that would work if players listened or even bothered to let you lead the group.

few players wantt o really wait to start the charge while your rally keeps failing but I like the idea of pets being our squad as well. Just hit warrent officer II when server went day I will try adn see if I can get anotehr pet. all it said was i do not have enough faction pool. (crosses his fingers)

I just want to comment that this is definitely *not* the biggest problem with Squad Leader, and should not be given any priority over more pressing concerns, like making the profession's skills actually have some sort of noticeable effect. It is an interesting suggestion (although I would say that no profession should be faction-dependent...you should be just as effective as a neutral SL as one that is factioned), but in no way does it outweigh the current general uselessness of our class. If ever considered or implemented, it should be after (or as part of) a more far-reaching overhaul to the class.

Personally, I would find three troopers plenty enough, provided I could actually improve them in some way with my SL skills. If I could make my three troopers fight like six, I would find that to be impressive...most impressive.

Why is our skill tree so barren of any bonuses for novice and first tier? It doesn't make any sense, and knowing our luck the devs are gonna say everything is working as intended.

I agree that this isn't the biggest problem with SL, if you want to go solo things SL isn't the proffesion you should have chosen. There is no reason we should have more Faction pets/soliders than anyone else, thats just plain stupid. SL is the most social proffesion out there, and most of the SL are to quiet, or they have no clue what they are doing and get people killed and give the other SL bad names. If you have problems with people listening to you then you might want to work on your communication skills, or just kick them from your group. The BIGGEST issue with SL is the cost of our abillities worse than anything else in the game, and the fact that you will fail so many times when /rally. These can be easily adjusted. All of these people that say we need more pets, we need more AI following us around, we NEED TO SOLO!! Need to chill and change to CH, the name of the proffesion should be enough SQUAD LEADER! Not MASTER OF THE FACTION PETS! If you hunt in the same place over and over again and run succesfull groups, then people with want to join your squad, people will listen to you. But if you just run in randomly and try and order people around and get them killed, then you will get black listed and might as well change proffesions.

Drac we need something that can help our professions our special abilities do next to nothing.. most of the time the group of PCs that we play in will ignore our sys messages. most of the time were not even let to be the leader of the group. Who ever said that a squad had to be made up of PCs i thinka squad of NPCs is even closer to the truth of what a squad leader really is.. instead of leading alot of random people you lead things that have been in your squad for quite awhile. its kind of like how in a real war they wouldnt have a group of people being lead by someone they dont know this would just get orders confused since theyre not accustomed to how the leader thinks.

I also agree that this is not the biggest problem (see Top Five Issues. . . Again), but it would be nice to be able to command more troopers. Although, I amnot certain that the best type of trooper for a squad leader are of the faction type. I have lead many groups, and I must say that I almost always have a mixed group of rebels and imperials. If I started pulling out faction pets in the midst of group members that are of the opposite faction, chaos would probably ensue. It would be awsome if there were mercenary troopers hanging out in cantinas and hotels and we could persuade them to join our group (a funtion of the tactics skill?).

Anyway, I must agree that I would be satisfied with three troopers if they could be made to fight like six with my Squad Leader abilities.
