Thread: NPC mercs
i was thinkin what could save our profession.. and ive been seeing the idea of generic troopers being thrown around... i think that this is a good idea because we will always have a squad even if we cant get a group and if we do get into a group we can still us our "mercs" contributing to the group so that squad leaders will be moreaffective in groups. perhaps they could put in a mercenary terminal were we could hire them based on our skills.. say a novice can only buy 1 or 2 low level mercs and use them at once and a master can use many moreand different mercenaries havedifferent skills like a commando or medic. these mercs would not be as affective as a PC but would make squadleader a much better profession and still stick to what it the profession is a leader of squads even your own.
i dont think this would be too hard to implement since we already have our specials that would compliment having an NPC squad.. and a way to limit squadleaders becoming the prenerf CH is to make it so that the higher level they are the more expensive they are(hopefully just a1 time payment)and at a low level you cant use thehigh level ones. (also theyd have around the same Hit points as a PC so they cant be used as meat shields). They would not be too strong but theyd still be a big plus for squadleaders.
