I posted my ideas for a bunch of things, but they got buried under a mound of posts. This was my section on squad leader:

Squad Leaders, like it or not, these guys should be the bards/enchanters of SWG, not entertainers or dancers. Their skillset should be devoted to making OTHERS MORE POWERFUL. Thus a combination of passive defensive and utility bonuses to group members (to hit, defenses, faster terrain movement) plus more specific, targettable buffs that increase attack speed (inspire?), a mind heal over time (boost morale?), increase the effectiveness of specials (battle orders?) or lowers their HAM cost (squad coordination?) and their most powerful ability ofall: revives all incapp'd players (RALLY!)

Don't make this into a class that turns group members into puppets. Remember the EQ Enchanter primadonna complex?Ever play a cleric with a tank thats constantly telling you to 'HEAL PLZ' even though you already know the proper timing for that complete heal? Nobody likes being bossed around.Part of being in a squad is trust in your mates, the current idea for the squad leader revampseemsto assume that your group mates are stupid.

I played a bard and am quite familiar with both classes. Being bossed around only happeend when you were a jack ass and attacked any mob in sight. This was only an issue with "mezzing" or crowd control. This has nothing whatsoever to do with that.

If you behaved stupidly in a group in EQ you got your whole party wiped out. You had to work together, and yes some enchanters were krap, but the group needed them. The only hope the Squad Leader class has is being needed by groups, without that we got nothing.

I dont understand how people dont see that, if we dont have skills that are extremely beneficial or necessary to a groups success its gonna be hard to advance in your class....the game is not group friendly right now
