Thread: Good type of combat?

Greetings, I recently deleted my original character and made a new one, since I got sick of being a Twi'lek in the empire. I'm now aiming to be a squadleader and thought a back up profession of Rifleman might be good, however I'm hearing in the rifleman board that rifleman is apparently a poor choice for PvP, now I don't partake in PvP often since I don't really enjoy it, however I would like to be able to hold me own againstsomeone in battle, so what would everyone recommend as my fighting technique? Should I perhaps go with Carbineer instead? Or some type of melee combat profession? Any help here would be greatly appreciated.
